Red, white and blue weekend

Happy Fourth of July everyone! We had a great day today...went to church and then to a BBQ with friends this afternoon. Lots of great food...today was not the day to watch what I ate, that's for sure! I had two places to be today that required two totally different outfits, so I was happy to oblige and come up with two patriotic looks. I'm all about the red, white and blue on the fourth of July! For church I couldn't pass up the chance to pull out my Pulsation Skirt from Anthropologie...it just screams 4th of July to me!

I, like many others, have had the worst time styling this skirt. I wore it a few weeks ago with a white short sleeve shirt and just didn't love the way it looked, so today I decided to try it with navy and white on top to add a little something extra. I'm still not entirely convinced I've found the perfect solution to styling this skirt, but for today, it worked.

First I tried to take a picture myself:

Then I had my husband take a picture to get a better look:

After church I changed into something a little more relaxed. I looked into my closet and looked right at my new navy Perfect-Fit Stripe Boatneck Tee...perfect!!! I paired it with some white rolled-up Matchstick jeans, red wedge sandals and a red necklace.

Oddly enough, I was the only one of my friends at the BBQ dressed in red, white and blue...go figure! I'll always be the nerd dressed to match the holiday (in a stylish way of course!)

One last outfit to share tonight...yesterday we spent the day as a family just running errands, going the the park, the library, the commissary, etc. I felt like being super comfortable so I pulled out this tie-dye shirt I grabbed at Gap Outlet a few weeks back. There's been several items I've spotted lately that have a tie-dye look to them and I've wanted to jump on the bandwagon too! I layered this over a short sleeved white t-shirt and paired it with cuffed denim shorts and brown leather flip flops. All about the comfort in this outfit for sure!

  3. I love all 3 outfits, you're so cute! I love that red skirt! I think it would look good with something black on top. Also try grey or khaki.
