Red, white and blue weekend

Happy Fourth of July everyone! We had a great day today...went to church and then to a BBQ with friends this afternoon. Lots of great was not the day to watch what I ate, that's for sure! I had two places to be today that required two totally different outfits, so I was happy to oblige and come up with two patriotic looks. I'm all about the red, white and blue on the fourth of July! For church I couldn't pass up the chance to pull out my Pulsation Skirt from just screams 4th of July to me!

I, like many others, have had the worst time styling this skirt. I wore it a few weeks ago with a white short sleeve shirt and just didn't love the way it looked, so today I decided to try it with navy and white on top to add a little something extra. I'm still not entirely convinced I've found the perfect solution to styling this skirt, but for today, it worked.

First I tried to take a picture myself:

Then I had my husband take a picture to get a better look:

-Short Sleeve cardigan (White)-LOFT

--Presta Wedge Sandals-Target
-Cocktail Ring-American Eagle

After church I changed into something a little more relaxed. I looked into my closet and looked right at my new navy Perfect-Fit Stripe Boatneck Tee...perfect!!! I paired it with some white rolled-up Matchstick jeans, red wedge sandals and a red necklace.

Oddly enough, I was the only one of my friends at the BBQ dressed in red, white and blue...go figure! I'll always be the nerd dressed to match the holiday (in a stylish way of course!)

One last outfit to share tonight...yesterday we spent the day as a family just running errands, going the the park, the library, the commissary, etc. I felt like being super comfortable so I pulled out this tie-dye shirt I grabbed at Gap Outlet a few weeks back. There's been several items I've spotted lately that have a tie-dye look to them and I've wanted to jump on the bandwagon too! I layered this over a short sleeved white t-shirt and paired it with cuffed denim shorts and brown leather flip flops. All about the comfort in this outfit for sure!

I am looking forward to tomorrow morning when I get my hair done...I love a good few hours at the salon and touched-up roots. =) A girl loves to be pampered! Hope you all have a great day!

  1. You are a total doll in the Pulsations skirt - and my goodness, how long are your legs! Lucky!!!

I love both your casual outfits too, perfect for the 4th! Hope you had a relaxing time at the salon today!

  2. I love all the outfits you have for the 4th!!! It was a crazy weekend for sure!

  3. I love all 3 outfits, you're so cute! I love that red skirt! I think it would look good with something black on top. Also try grey or khaki.
