Ruffles Everywhere

Until this year really, I have never been one to like ruffly things...especially on clothes. I don't know what happened but all of a sudden I just can't get enough of them. I LOVE them! Today's outfit is full of ruffles!

Details:
-Petal Vine Shell (Orchid Shadow)-J Crew
-Marisa Slim Leg Cropped Pants-LOFT (Black is sold out but other colors available for $14.99!!)
-Ruffle Cardigan-Old Navy-Spring 2010 (no longer online)
-BP Stella Sandals-Nordstrom-Crystal Milano Bracelet-J Crew
-Majesty Stone Cocktail Ring-J Crew (only Metallic Blush color available now)
-Necklace and earrings-Cookie Lee jewelry party-OLD

So these black capris were a total steal, and were truly meant to be mine. Yesterday we were out and about so I brought along a few items to return to LOFT in case we were near one. We happened upon one so I ran in while my husband stayed in the car with the boys. I had purchased these same capris in the grey color about a month ago really liking the fit and thinking I'd wear them a lot. Here we are 30 days later and they were still hanging in my closet, unworn. I just wasn't feeling them. So I decided I wanted to exchange them for black. They were all out of them online so I was really hoping the store would still have them. I looked all over the store and even asked the sales associate to help me look, but we came up empty handed. I decided to look once more in the area where all the other colors of the capris were and all of a sudden I saw a pair of black ones hidden behind all the other pairs. Surely they wouldn't be the size I needed, but I could hope! Low and behold, they were my size and I promptly grabbed them up to take home. Even better, they were now $15 cheaper than what I had paid for them a month ago! I was also returning a shirt I bought over 2 months ago thinking I would love but just never could figure out how to wear, so between that return and the extra difference in the pants, I had a nice bit of change to pick up something else (this is totally staying within my rules because I wasn't spending any extra money). I came upon this skirt--the "Foil Finish Pencil Skirt":

It's super cute and I just love the fun sparkle the fabric has...and it was 40% off! I can really see this being worn throughout all seasons. It actually goes down to the top of my knee unlike the model in the picture. Bad representation! The skirt that I had on my wish list (Spotted Cheetah Pencil Skirt) was on sale as well, but in person it just didn't do it for me. I also realized I didn't have anything to pair it with right now and because I'm on a spending freeze this month I wouldn't be able to buy anything to finish off the outfit. So when all was said and done, I ended up getting $3.07 back...refund! No money spent. Sweet! I love a great deal!

Here's what I wore yesterday...the sales associate in LOFT totally complemented me on my shirt...duh, it's from there!

Details:

-Capri Jeans-Tilly's (from 2007)
-Tulle design Tee-LOFT-Spring 2010--no longer online
-Wonder Tee-Down East Basics
-Shoes-The Buckle--purchased in 2008
-Necklace-Lisa Leonard Designs

Another grey shirt...there I go surprising myself again! I really like the details in this shirt...almost a little whimsical but not too overwhelming. Just enough to add a little something extra to an otherwise plain tee.

That's it for tonight...I did a little more shuffling around of my closet today---got rid of some more things that I just know I don't love or wear anymore to make room for the things that I do. Purging is always good. If only I had a bigger closet to spread things out more...one day!!

  2. Your ruffle outfit is so cute! And I firmly believe that when you find something you badly want and it's the last one in your size - it's meant to be!
