Changing it up...and an Anthro sale!

I had a hair appointment over the weekend to get a trim and highlight...I went in with roots and straight hair and left with a blonder, shorter, curlier look!  It was just what I wanted and needed to start the new season!

Of course it always looks cute and exactly how you want it when you leave the salon...the trick is figuring out how to recreate it the next day!

Yesterday I gave it a go, and came pretty close.  It was a little more curly when I did it instead of looking like beachy waves from the day before.  I need to learn to leave out more of the ends of my hair when curling it...I'll keep practicing.  Just in case you're wondering, I'm using a 1 1/4" curling iron barrel to curl my hair now.  It gives it a wavier curl than a smaller barrel will.  Here's how it turned out when I did it, along with what I wore to church yesterday:

Calla Asymmetric Dress-Anthropologie
Shimmer Dust Belt-Anthropologie
Joppa Pumps-Anthropologie
Kulfi Strands Necklace-Anthropologie
Pinspark Cuff-Anthropologie
Leafing So Soon? Earrings-ModCloth
Pop Stone Ring-Banana Republic

And how fun to wake up to a sale at Anthro this morning!  I picked up a few things from my wish list that hit sale:

in Pink

in Mint

I've tried both items on before and loved them...so excited to add both to my closet!  The top will go great with jeans or skirts and the mint skirt had me at hello...LOVE!

Did you pick anything up on sale at Anthropologie this morning?

Alrighty...off to start my Monday!  We're headed to the gym and then running some errands...typical Monday around here!

Have a great day!

  1. Love the new haircut!! I completely agree that it is so difficult to get your hair looking like it did when you first left the salon. It seems like you came pretty close though!

  2. Love your hair cut and style. I have tried to do the beachy wave thing and it never seems to turn out. I have A LOT of hair and it's very thick and naturally wavy to begin with which may be part of the issue, but I really have no skill at using a curling iron. I generally where it straight. We'll see if you have inspired me to give it another go.

    1. Excuse the typo, should read "wear" it straight.

    2. I think it may be harder to achieve the beachy wave look with short, thick hair. I have super fine, thin hair, so I liked this cut and look because it actually gives my hair more of a voluminous look...even though it's so not full of volume! Tricky! Good luck with your hand at it!!

  7. Your haircut looks so good. I think you did a great job re-creating it. Do you spray anything on it before curling it? Love your church outfit also....very pretty.

    1. Thanks so much! I do...my hair girl used some sort of hair spray (can't think of the name of it right now) but it works fab, without being sticky which is great! If you want to know the name, let me know.

    2. I would like to know the name please. I am also blessed with fine, thin hair so I am careful about hair products. Some weigh it down too much. Thanks!
