Date Night!

Last night was date night around here. We have been so fortunate to be able to make great friends here in CA since we've lived here. Some have already come and gone (such is the life of a military family) and some will soon be on their way to new places and adventures. It's one of the hard things about being in the military...saying goodbye. One of the couples we went out with last night was in town visiting from Japan, one of the couples will be moving this week to another base in Japan, and another couple and their family will be on their way to UT in July after they separate from the military. That leaves us and one other couple left from our group last night. I have other friends here besides these ladies, but they have been my core group of girls for the past few years. They are the girls I shop with, commiserate with, have girls nights with...they are "the girls". We've had a lot of fun over the years, needless to say. Lots of good eats, lots of chick flicks, lots of dressing room laughter, lots of Black Friday 15 hour events...and most importantly, lots of love. I don't have sisters so I've always made a point to try to make good girlfriends wherever I've keeps me sane. I am one lucky girl to have these ladies in my life and look forward to many "Girls Weekends" in the future. If you happened to be at our local PF Chang's last night you would have laughed to see our table...guys on one side and ladies on the other. That's how we roll on group date night. After dinner we moved the party on over to the Gelato shop across the street. Sweet way to end the evening. =)

Here's what I wore last night on our date night:

-Spotted Satin Ruffle Tank-Forever 21 (Sold out online)
-Hiking Ruffles Cardigan-Anthropologie
-Always Skinny Jeans-Gap
-Slinking Frills Pumps-Anthropologie
-Earrings/Necklace-Old Navy
-Ring-Forever 21

I have to thank Tricia for pointing out this cute soon as I saw it on her blog I hoped I could find one at my local store...and I did!

I'm looking forward to tomorrow...a full day of shopping ahead! I'm headed back into the city with "the girls" (minus one) last shopping hoorah before our two Japan girls head overseas. Even though it'll be a day full of fun and laughter no doubt, I want to take a second to say how appreciative I am of all the military men and women who have given their time, talents, and even some, their lives, for our country's freedoms. On this, Memorial day, take a moment to remember.

  1. Wow, this looks so amazing! I love that tank, great F21 pick up!

  2. Saying goodbye is so hard for me. I'm sure you've grown quite use to this being in a military family. Your date night outfit is great - love those ruffles and the chunky necklace!

  3. Great outfit and you always have on the cutest cardigan. =) I am in love with that red-dotted F21 Blouse and those amazing, Romantic, Classic Pumps. =)

  4. Ha! I just picked up this tank at the thrift store for 99 cents yesterday, and then I stumbled onto this post today ;) Cuteness as always, Jenni ;)
