Back in the day before there were such things as skinny jeans, I wore wide-leg/flared jeans a lot. I decided to go all retro on myself a few weeks ago and pull them back out. Honestly, I forgot how much I liked them!

It was kind of fun to wear a different shape than I usually do. Although I could never truly give up all my skinny leg jeans, trying something else out once in a while is kind of refreshing. It's not like the wide-leg/flared jean trend ever really went away...they've just kind of taken aback seat to the skinny jean the past few years. I have a white pair of wide-leg jeans sitting in my closet waiting to be worn as we speak so I'm planning to get those out soon as well.
Do you still wear wide-leg/flare jeans? Or have you converted to skinny jeans for the most part like me?
I love flared jeans and can't wait for them to make a full comeback!! you look great in those by the way! xo

Ahh, thanks! Just like everything else I'm sure they'll be a huge trend yet again one of these years!
DeleteI love my wide leg jeans (the Madewell wideleggers are the best) and still wear those but my flared jeans have been sitting in my closet since last year when skinny jeans took over. I think I need to pull them out now :)
ReplyDeleteI wear skinnies constantly so it's kind of nice to change it up once in a while!
DeleteFor me it depends on the season. I prefer skinny jeans in late fall/winter if I intend to wear knee-high boots. If it is a bit too warm for boots and I am going to be doing a reasonable amount of walking, then I am often in clogs, which I definitely wear with flares. For wearing jeans with sandals, then I prefer skinnies marginally rolled. We do definitely get used to seeing ourselves in certain silhouettes and when I switch between one or another, I often find myself taking a second look.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree...you get so used to something that you forget about anything else! I too love the look of rolled skinnies in the summer...so cute!
DeleteI still love to rock the 'flare' if you will. I agree its not out of style but is just kinda hangin' out. I think the white ones will be so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad they're still around...it's fun to try out different looks!
DeleteI love the look on you! I still wear mostly boot cut jeans, as I feel that it balances out my figure better. I have a larger top with smaller legs, so I haven't quite figured out how best to wear my skinny jeans.
ReplyDeleteI love to wear tunics right now with skinnies so that may be something to give a try! I also love the look of rolling up skinny jeans and wearing wedge sandals...the wedge sandals are a little clunkier and balance out a look sometimes!
DeleteI've been on the hunt for a good pair of flared jeans... no such luck...yet... but the search continues. I'm going to be in a pinch when skinny jeans are so passe!
ReplyDeleteThose jeans are greatness.....but it's your hair that I really want! :)
ReplyDeleteI used to wear flared-leg jeans all the time, but now I look back and think "what was I thinking?!" I'm only 5 feet tall and have decided skinny leg jeans look the best on me, so I'm mostly a skinny girl now.
ReplyDeleteI love flared leg jeans. I have never really stoppedd wearing them, and it took me a long time to start appreciating the skinny jeans. I still wear them very often - I find them so flattering...
ReplyDeleteomg i love my wide leg jeans. in fact, even after skinny jeans became the only thing to wear, I bought the best pair of wide flares from Paige.
ReplyDeletelove!
