Winter colors in the summer and some of my Tag Sale buys!

There are certain colors that I often think of as "winter colors".  Those being burgundy, navy, dark green, and rust/dark orange, just to name a few.  I generally shy away from these colors a bit in the spring and summer months, opting for brighter colors.  I bought the Drapey Bubble Tee last September  with my birthday discount.  I loved it because it was the perfect orange color to wear in the fall.  Fast forward to May and I'm desperately going through my closet looking for any short sleeved top to wear that doesn't require a cardigan.  Layers aren't always gonna fly.  I came across the top when I was going through my clothes a few weeks ago and literally sat there trying to figure out how to make it feel more like a spring piece.  I turned to Polyvore to get my wheels turning and came up with this:

Drapey Bubble Tee/Toothpick Ankle Denim/Seychelles Keep You Guessing Sandal

All I needed now was the pop of lime green at my feet.  Enter my Piperlime rewards points!  After all was said and done (with a coupon code and my rewards) I paid a whopping $17 for these fun Seychelles sandals.  I LOVE them!  They arrived and I finally got to wear the outfit I had planned out:

What I Wore:
Drapey Bubble Tee-Anthropologie
Toothpick Ankle Denim-J Crew Factory
Seychelles "Keep You Guessing" Sandals-Piperlime
Drawing Room Necklace-Anthropologie (Spring version)
Beachcombing Bracelet-Anthropologie
Baroness Bliss Teardrop Earrings-Ruche
Ring-Forever 21

Don't you love it when an outfit comes out the way you hoped and planned?!!  It definitely doesn't always work out that way, but it's fun when it does.  I'm so happy I found a way to make this top work in the spring!

So is everyone recovering from the (kind of disappointing) Anthro Tag Sale debut yesterday?  I must say, I thought I'd be more impressed.  Don't get me wrong, I definitely picked a few things up I'm thrilled about, but overall, a ton of items I thought would hit sale, didn't. That and the fact that there wasn't an extra % off sale items was a bit of a let down (only because all recent tag sales have had the extra % off).  All well...no biggie.  Just clothes and jewelry right?!   =)

Like I said, I still had no problem finding a few things to add my my closet...here's a few of the things I picked up:

Pretty spring/summer colors!

I couldn't decide which I liked better so I got both.  They were only $19.95, and I have been waiting for what feels like FOREVER for these to go on sale.   I'm totally excited to finally add these to the jewelry rotation!

I am thrilled this cute belt is on it's way to my closet...it's so perfect for summer!!!

I love looking forward to good mail days!

Did you end up getting anything even without the extra % off?

Alrighty...back to online house hunting.  We're headed to Ohio to look for a place to live in just a few weeks so I'm in total house hunt mode.  Crossing my fingers we find something perfect!

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!

  1. HI Jenni, nothing for me on Tuesday. I just don't need anything right now and wanted to wait for J Crew's new roll out today. It was just OK for me. Exciting house hunting. I lucked out and bought the first one I looked at!! But, I've moved 5 other times so I pretty much know what I like. Have fun with that. Sorry I am moving away or I could've met up with you at Easton. LOL!! We'd be in big trouble then!!!

  3. That outfit did come together beautifully! I generally shy away from darker/warmer colors in the spring/summer, too, but the lime sandals were the perfect touch! I didn't make it to the Anthro sale, but it looks like you found some great things despite the sale being somewhat disappointing. Love those two necklaces!
