Most days I go to my closet with somewhat of a plan of what I'm going to wear. Either I've already come up with an outfit in my head or I refer to a Polyvore set I've created for an outfit idea. This outfit, however, came together on a whim...totally out of the blue. Very uncommon for me. I just HAD to have this top last year when it came out...I picked it up on a girls weekend shopping trip in San Francisco. I really do love it, but struggle with how to style it, outside of wearing it with dark blue denim. I decided to challenge myself to change it up and find a new color to wear on the bottom and this is what I came up with:
What I Wore:
Judy Tee-Anthropologie
Shadow Striped Cardigan-Loft
AG Stevie Ankle Denim-Anthropologie
Land & Lake Heels-Anthropologie
Lucky Brand Necklace-Macy's
Clepsydra Hoops-Anthropologie
Ring-catalog
This color combination of coral and purple is a little unexpected for me, but I liked how it turned out, nonetheless. I still managed to slip in some dark blue with the shoes and cardigan when all was said and done so it wasn't too outside my comfort zone.
We survived the first day back at school. It poured rain all day here in the bay area so it gave me good reason to stay home most of the day. I spent the majority of the day cleaning the house, and then threw in a little grocery shopping, laundry, helping the kids with homework, cooking dinner (I made some yummy homemade taquitos...recipe can be found HERE--thank you Pinterest) and ended the day watching a new episode of Glee. It was a Suzy-homemaker kinda day. My house needs those kinds of days every now and again!
Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!
I think it's totally cute and you styled it perfectly! As for other options, how about tucking it into a yellow or pink skirt? Coral & mint seems to be really big right now too :)
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I like the mint idea. Yellow would be cute too! Thanks for the idea Tara!
DeleteJenni, too funny. I wore that same top yesterday and always, always wear the same thing with the top. THANK YOU for this post. Now I am inspired to change mine up too.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike! =)
