Golden Find

I loved the Layered Column Dress from the minute it found it's way onto Anthropologie's website. The design, the diagonal stripes, the fitted shape...just really cute and flattering all around.  Like so many others, I've waited to no avail for that little number to go on sale because while it's a very cute dress, I certainly wasn't planning on paying full price for it.  It's not even a totally unique design anymore as there are about 5 or 6 different versions of it from Bailey 44.  One night while browsing online I came across a Layered Column look-a-like at ModCloth:

Building Your Repertoire Dress

I must not have been the only one who refused to pay the crazy $180 price for the Layered Column dress at Anthro because the ModCloth version sold out in a blink of an eye.  I'm so glad I was able to snatch one up because I LOVE it!  Hopefully ModCloth will do a restock, but for now it's still showing as sold out.  An added bonus of the ModCloth version, besides the great price, was the fact that it was only 41.5" long.  The Anthro version was so super long (48") on my short legs so if I had bought it I would have had to take it to the tailor to have it shortened.  I'm super happy with my find!

I decided to wear it out to dinner on Friday night when we went out with all the residents and their spouses:

Hope you had a great weekend!  Ours isn't over yet as my kids have the day off from school tomorrow...yay!  BUT, it's suppose to rain. BOO!  All well.  Can't win them all!

Enjoy your day!

  2. Looks fabulous on you! Definitely a great copycat version. Rats that it sold out. I'm still hoping to pick up the shorter version at Anthro on sale!

  3. I love it! I've noticed quite a few less expensive Anthro look a-like options from Modcloth! They are a fun company to shop with.

  4. Looks great on you!! I finally broke down and ordered the Anthro version. I wanted to get this one but it sold out while I was on vacation so I missed out. Oh well, I do love the anthro one so it's worth it to me. Love the yellow shoes with it!

  5. I love that dress. It truly is so pretty. White House Black Market has its version of it, last fall and I should have picked it up cause I loved it on me. I think it's a versatile piece, too. Love this dressy and pretty outfit you created here with the burgundy tee.
