Pattern Mixing Experiment

Hi there! Long time no blog! Hope everyone is having a good week so far. It's a busy week for me so I'm moving like the Energizer Bunny...I just keep going and going and going. Come Friday night (as soon as our church's craft night that I'm in charge of is over)I'm gonna need a really good night's sleep!

I wanted to share an outfit with you that I wore last Friday. I created this look in Polyvore a while back and have been very excited to wear it ever since. It's a bit farther outside the pattern mixing box than I'm used to but I really liked it!

-Expanding Universe Tank-Anthropologie
-Artist's Study Cardigan-Anthropologie
-Always Skinny Jeans-Gap (petite length)
-Anticipation Heels-Anthropologie
-Lucky Brand Necklace-Macy's
-Earrings-Nordstrom (BP)
-Ring-Pree Brulee

Do you like to pattern mix? Do you do it often? I like to mix more subtle patterns usually but I felt like going a little crazy with this look. Go bold or go home, right?!

We're taking advantage of a short school day tomorrow and heading up to visit my parents and then making the trek up to Apple Hill to pick out pumpkins! I used to go there as a kid to get pumpkins for Halloween so it's fun to be able to take my kids there now to experience that same tradition. I'm also looking forward to indulging in a favorite fall treat of donuts! YUM! Can't wait.

Hope you have a great day!

  1. I really like the pattern mix. The 2 bold patterns definitely work together. And have fun at the pumpkin patch, we still need to go to one of those this year.

  2. I love pattern mixing, but need to get better at it myself. I find that I'm able to do it great with my 18-month-old baby girl:-)) I really love the way you did it here...those shoes are awesome!

  3. Love it! I'm a huge fan of pattern mixing, and Polyvore has been a great help in playing around with this.

  4. I love the mix of the patterns. These beautiful Anthro tops pair well with each other. =)
