Thursday catch-up and my random thoughts...

TGI...almost the end of the week! The weather around these parts has been less than fabulous the past few days so we've stayed indoors a lot which has made the days go by SO SLOW! Nothing like being cooped up in the house with three active boys! Unfortunately the weather doesn't look like it's getting much better anytime soon. I'm hoping by the time my husband and I go on our little getaway to Vegas next week, the weather will be nice (crossing my fingers). Speaking of our getaway...what should I pack? Project! We don't have any big plans once we're there...the only thing set in stone is that we have dinner reservations at Envy Steakhouse on Friday night (anyone ever eaten there??) We also want to see a show (thinking about Cirque du Soleil's "Ka"--anyone seen it??) My husband's conference lasts all day Friday and part of Saturday so I figured I might as well use my time wisely and scheduled something I've ALWAYS wanted to do...a Hot Stone Massage. I cannot tell you how excited I am! In addition to my fabulous massage I also plan to get my shop on, of course! If you have any Vegas tips (shopping, food, shows, etc) let me know...I'm all ears!

So I have a few OOTD pictures for ya today...the first is from yesteday when I broke out my green Floral Frappe for the first time:

Details:
-Floral Frappe Top-Anthropologie
-Skinny Cords-Loft
-Dollhouse Boots-Endless
-Bracelet/Earrings-Old Navy
-Ring-Forever 21

I'm pretty sure I copied Tricia...I think she wore this exact look a while back, so thanks for the idea, girl! =)

And today...my rainy day look:

Details:
-Striped Sequin Boatneck Tee-J Crew
-Skinny Jeans-American Eagle
-Rain boots-Gap Outlet
-Earrings-Anthropologie
-Necklace-Lisa Leonard Designs
-Ring-OLD

My rain boots are actually purple but don't look it in the picture. Maybe I should try wearing a colorful necklace with this top next time...it's pretty neutral...hmm.

So here's me being random...what's everyone cooking for dinner tonight? I'm out of ideas. Hubs won't be home till late so it's just me and the kids. Cereal anyone? haha. Just kidding...sorta. If only my kids would eat cereal. They're more the waffles, pancakes or french toast kinds of kids. Anyone watching TV tonight? I definitely am! I was up way too late last night watching Idol..I love Hollywood week! I'm also a Grey's fanatic so I'm all over that tonight as well. I need to catch up on The Office too. Oh, and fold a lot of laundry. Blah! Also need to keep cropping and editing all my closet items to upload to Polyvore. Holy cow it's taking forever! I wonder if the UPS guy will bring me any of my Anthro haul today? He delievered the Garden Rows top to me yesterday...love it! I love my UPS guy...he rocks. He always knocks instead of ringing the doorbell because he knows I have a litttle one that naps and he always brings me good stuff...never bad. That would be the Fed Ex guy who does that. Like when last week he delivered my husband's camera that he had left behind at a hotel ballroom when he attended a conference there. The hotel found the camera and shipped it to us...and then Fed Ex charged us $39.60 to do so. Are you kidding me? The hotel is like an hour away. I could have gone through the darn toll station like 8 times for $40! I don't like that Fed Ex guy...he charges rediculous amounts of money. I'm sticking with UPS.

Ok, how's all that for random? I hear my little guy waking up from his nap so I better get going. He's a whole other story today. He's entering his terrible two's 5 months early. Nice. I still love him to pieces though....hope my mom still does after she watches my kiddos next week! =)

Have a great day!

  1. Breakfast for dinner here, pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast and bacon. Love our Floral Frappe shirt. I've seen O and it was great, I'e also seen La Nouba in Orlando, even better. The steakhouse is fab, enjoy.

  2. We do breakfast for dinner all the time. That's not a bad idea for dinner tonight. I've been craving my husbands crepes. They are delicious. My original plans were to cook some chicken teriyaki legs and rice. Now I'm feeling like crepes. I tracked down the garden rows top as well once it hit the sale. I can't wait to get it. I think it's the cutest shirt. I'm excited to see how you style it so I can copy you. I'm also a Grey's fan. Love it! Excited for tonight's episode. Love your outfits!

  3. I love breakfast for dinner idea. How about fried eggs such as over-easy :-) Add the Chinese Vibe to it by pour soy sauce on top. I know what you mean by the weather, but I am not complaining because I am taking the kids to Tahoe this weekend so the rain here means better snow there. Let's just hope the rain stop by Saturday or the driving would be difficult. Have fun at Vegas!

  4. My husband is going to be late tonight as well, so the boys and I had Tuna Melts. We absolutely LOVE them, but hubby doesn't really like them so we jumped on the opportunity to eat them since he didn't have dinner with us. Oh, and I also love breakfast for dinner, too. :)

You are so lucky that UPS delivers your Anthro packages directly to you. I always get the UPS to USPS route, so it takes a day longer for them to get here to me, unfortunately.

  6. You look great! I can't wait for my floral frappe top to arrive now.

If I were going to vegas right now I'd totally see Lion King, I want to see it SO BAD!! The only cirque show I've seen was Mystere and it was pretty good; haven't heard anything about the one you want to see. As far as food goes, my sister just went there and swears that the frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity is the best! She said the food was good too but I think it's more of a lunch/snack type of place. I'd also check out the gardens at the Bellagio (they're free) and there's some really good gelato at the Venetian where all the restaurants are. The best brunch I had was at Bouchon in the Venetian. And of course I'd go to the outlet malls and a visit to Anthro goes without saying!! If you like thrill rides I always enjoy the ride at the top of the Stratosphere (I think it's called Big Shot) and the view from the top is so pretty. And I always have to stop and see the Bellagio fountains. Sorry I just wrote a book and I hope you have a great time!

  7. Cute outfits! I need to break out that sequin tee soon. Hm, breakfast for dinner doesn't sound too bad. I was terrible and had McD's for lunch, so really should have something uber-healthy. :)

  9. Love your randomness. I have been feeling that lately, too.
We had breakfast for dinner. Too easy, and it is that kind of night.
We went to Vegas for my husbands conference and we had a blast. We saw Cirque "O" which was amazing. The Forum Shops has the BEST Anthropologie. I spent several hours there. Plus, I ordered my Voltante and my Soldierly Sparkle two weeks ago. They let me wait on the phone while they went down to the storage room three floors below to pull them. Since I was afraid there would be a mix-up with the order if I hung up. They were so sweet and understanding. (Totally rambling here....)
    Have fun!

  10. I really love the sequied stripes on that tee. I am SO unbelievably behind in the stripe department -- definitely need to remedy that.

Usually, I'm the one getting home late, so I'm afraid I don't do much cooking at all. But when I was younger, my mom used to make pancakes for dinner when my dad was away. We LOVED it!

  11. wow, one word lady - Floral Frappe + Jenni= awesome! You look so cute in that top!

For dinner tonight I didn't want to go out in the monsoon so I cooked up some pinto beans (buy them in 25 lb bags at costco, then added some italian spice, italian sausage, and fried some potatoes.

Breakfast is my fav meal - I would have it for dinner everyday if I could!

  12. I was going to make Lobster ravioli with some pesto tomato sauce but we ended up going for happy hour with my hub's work. Yum! I actually love it on those days when we don't have to cook. Hehe no dishes equals happy couple!

  13. I second that Bellagio is the place to get gelato. Yummy!!! You definitely need to go the outlets and the mall. I mean, come on everything is open until like 11 or something. It's a shopper's paradise. LOL

We had breakfast for dinner last night - sausage and cinnamon pancakes shaped like planets. Tonight, tomato/butternut squash soup with french bread.

  14. You are going to have SO MUCH FUN! I've never been to Vegas, but I'm hoping we can go soon just for the sights and experience of it.
I run out of ideas for supper too. My husband is kind of a meat & potatoes kind of guy so experimenting with food isn't really his thing. Sometimes I just stare at my pantry full of food and feel like I have no idea how to put it all together for a meal :)

  15. I would go see the O show at the bellagio if you are going to see a cirque de sole show! They do it underwater and on top of the water! I would also go see the Bellagio gardens, get a dessert at Bellagio made by Jean Phillipe (world renoun pastry chef) and eat at Serendipity3 or at least get some frozen hot cocoa! Maybe go to M&M world and get your boys a little something, H&M and there is a really nice Nordy's across the street from Trump. I would go see Garth Brooks if I were there because that is a dream of mine! Have so much fun!

  16. I agree with the others that recommended O at the Bellagio. I have seen it and KA and O is much better IMO. Enjoy your trip and the great shopping in Vegas!!
