Breaking out some new sandals...and a few rules

This has been the year of the shoes in my closet. Shoes and cardigans, really, but I'm really addicted to buying shoes. There, I said it. I have way too many, yet never have a problem finding another pair I "need". Recently as I was looking for my perfect black sandals (that should be arriving on my doorstep today in fact) I came across the perfect neutral sandal:

Two Lips "Twizzle" Wedge Sandal in Bronze:

I ended up trying them on and decided to add them to my collection as well. I couldn't pass up that cute striping on the wedge heel! Today is the first time I've worn them and so far I have to say, they are super comfortable and I'm in love. I don't have a single blister forming (this is a rare occasion it seems) and I've walked around in them carrying my 24 pounder to and from basketball camp without a problem. They are true to size (I took my normal size 9) and have a 4 1/2 inch wedge heel with a 1 inch platform on the toe. Thankfully my husband is tall at 6 feet 4 inches. Makes my love for tall shoes easier. I highly recommend these!

It's really feeling like summer here today...nice and hot. We're headed out to the park in a few hours to meet some friends so I wanted to wear something I wouldn't sweat to death in. I opted for a jean skirt and a tank/lightweight cardigan combo. The skirt is definitely more of a lighter weight denim so that'll help in the sun.

Yesterday we stayed home most of the day so I didn't get too dressed up--just a pair of denim shorts and short sleeve shirt with sandals. Nothing to write home about. I was all about comfy casual! We stopped at Jamba Juice on the way home from my boys' basketball camp and somehow I managed to spill some on me...ignore that spot on my shirt!

So since tomorrow is the start to a new month, I'm gonna set a few ground rules for my shopping. During the month of July I will NOT be buying any clothes for myself UNLESS an item on my wish list magically decides to go on sale for a much better price (and if they all go on sale I can only pick one or two). If it's not on my wish list (the one I made here on my blog), it's not coming home with me. There are two other exceptions I am making: 1. When my husband and I go to San Francisco for the day in July I will allow myself to make a purchase or two...we'll be sans children and I cannot pass up the opportunity to shop! I will be with my husband which means the shopping won't last too long anyways so I won't have the chance to buy too much...he's not a shopper and 2. If I happen to get out on a girl's night for shopping I'll allow myself to purchase something. Not a lot of somethings...just something. So there it is. I hope I can do it! It'll take some will power, but really, I don't need a thing. It's all about wanting at this point. This will really force me to use what I have already which is a good thing.

Hope you all have a happy day!
