A Few Favorites for January...including an Anthro dress review!

Happy Monday!

It was suppose to be back to reality this morning as school was scheduled to start up again however we get a bonus day due to bad weather...I'm thrilled!  One more day to relax and enjoy time together at home.   Since we're staying indoors today it gives me plenty of time to do a little blogging and share a few of my favorite things for January!

Pieced Stripes Column Dress from Anthropologie

I saw this dress hanging in Anthropologie last week when I went shopping with friends and just HAD to try it on!  The colors are so perfect and the dress itself was such a cute shape.  Upon trying it on in the dressing room I fell in love!

I took this dress in a size small.  This brand tends to run a little on the tight side for me so the small is perfect.  I loved everything about it...everything!  I didn't want to take it off.  So, with a gift card from  Christmas in hand, this little gem came home with me and I have no regrets.  It fits perfectly into my wardrobe.  I love that it can go with sandals, heels or boots, and can be layered with jackets, cardigans or just worn alone.  And I like that it's 3/4 sleeve so it really can be worn year round! And the jewelry possibilities...too many to mention!  This may be one of the most versatile dresses in my closet.  I HIGHLY recommend it.  It's my new favorite dress!

The model shot of the Pieced Stripes Column dress online (seen above) shows the dress paired with the adorable Lilea Shooties.  I really liked these shoes when I first saw them but I told myself I wouldn't get them until they went on sale.  When I ended up buying the dress last week I decided I really wanted the Lilea Shooties to go with it (and many other outfits) but when I went to add them to my cart I found they were sold out and had already been on sale for a while.  I was soooo bummed!  I was determined to find them.  Customer service told me they were sold out in stores throughout the country.  Naturally, I didn't believe them.  Good thing too because after calling nearly 20 stores in search of them I finally found them in Miami on sale plus an additional 25% off!  Score!  I'm so excited to get these!  I bought them in the cream motif that are now sold out online but they are still available in black HERE.

"Emily" Cardigan from Piper Street

This might be my absolute favorite thing at Piper Street right now.  It's such a fun pattern and the bold colors are perfect to brighten up any drab winter day.  It's the perfect cozy winter cardigan!  We are currently sold out but expect to restock THIS WEEK so check back!

Rachel Roy "Arielly" Booties

I recently purchased my first pair of black booties but didn't love them when they arrived so it was back to the drawing board.  I loved these wedge booties when I saw them on another blogger recently so I did a little research and found them on sale on rachelroy.com.  I received them over the weekend and can't tell you how amazing they are!  They are remarkably comfortable and look so fab with skinnies.  As soon as the snow melts I'll be rocking these!!

I've been seeing tassel necklaces all over the place and am ready to jump on the bandwagon.  I love these necklaces by Kendra Scott...they're unique and come in multiple color choices.  Choosing which color to get is going to be the hardest part!

I have these in a few colors and really love them!  They go on like gloss but aren't sticky which is so rare!  The color pigment is really good and stays put for a few hours.  The colors I'm using right now look to be sold out online ("Bambi" and "Sophia") but there are still plenty to choose from!

My cute friend Rebecca recently started an online jewelry boutique via Facebook and she has some amazing pieces!  Her necklaces are great quality and very affordable.  Check her Facebook page often for new items and grab them quick because they sell fast!

What are you loving this month? I'd love to hear!!!

  2. You look fantastic in that dress! I agree with the previous comment, it looks better on you than on the model! Do you mind sharing how tall you are and if you bought a regular small or petite small? I am 5"4" and normally do not buy petite, but I would like it to hit just below the knee and am not sure which size to purchase. Thanks!

    1. Hi! Thanks for the sweet comment! I am 5' 5 1/2" tall and went with the regular length. I have a very long torso and shorter legs though so I always need dresses that are at least 40" to hit my knees. Hope that helps! =)

    2. Thank you SO much, that is very helpful! I actually have a very similar body type with regards to the long torso and short (boo) legs. I normally wear an XS in Anthro but your reviews are always so helpful with the recommendation of sizing up to a small. Love your blog and LOVE Piper Street, there are a few things I am looking to order! :)

  6. The Anthropologie pieced stripes column dress looks amazing on you and I love it with those boots. It’s such a versatile dress and can be styled in so many ways. That’s a dress I would walk past and not realise the potential.

  7. Jenni this dress is so adorable on you and what a great fit! I would be afraid to consume even water while wearing it but you have such a lean frame! I end up sizing up and things not fitting quite right because of this fear. Enjoy your dress!! :)
