Style It: Switching Lanes Cardigan

Happy Friday!

I'm a little late posting this morning because my kiddos have the day off and I slept in till 9am.  It was heavenly.  No rest for the weary though...we're headed to go get our passports today.  I'm really hoping we have all the right documents and it doesn't take all day!  I've heard horror stories so crossing my fingers it all works out.

So welcome to my new series: "Style It"!  I'm pretty creative when it comes to giving things titles huh? =)  This will be the series where I bring an item out of my closet that I haven't worn in a while and style it in a new way!  I think most people have items just hanging out in their closets that they don't know what to do with any more, or they're bored of how they've already worn it...me too!  So this series is to encourage us all to bring those items out and try again!

This week I found this lovely cardigan in my closet, nicely folded just waiting to be used...it's the Switching Lanes Cardigan from Anthropologie a few years back:

I scored this cardigan for $19.99 on sale a few winters ago and have worn it probably less than 5 times.  I really love the yellow stripes and the shape of the collar....that's what originally drew me to it in the first place.  I've just found it harder to style than I expected though.  But NOT impossible!

So here we are, a few years later, and I am experimenting with a few more color combinations than I used to.  I went digging around in my colored jeans pile and came up with a fun look using a pair of dark turquoise skinnies:

Original Polyvore set for this look can be found HERE

Soldierly Sparkle Top-Anthropologie
Cap Sleeve Under Tee-Shade Clothing
Switching Lanes Cardigan-Anthropologie
AG Color Ankle Denim-Anthropologie
DV by Dolce Vita "Pilar" Booties-Amazon
Gold Chevron Necklace-Lisa Leonard Designs
April Showers Earrings-Anthropologie
Sparkling Dome Ring-Forever 21

Mission completed!  I really liked this new color combination and all the layering was perfect on a cold day.

I challenge you to pull something out of your closet you haven't lately and remix it!  You never know...you might come up with your new favorite look! =)

  4. Cute! I have the same cardigan in navy/gray and I wear it all the time! I usually tie the band in the back so it's just decorative, not around my waist. I usually wear skinny jeans or leggings, boots

  6. It's such a great piece. I love the colors and the subtle pattern. It looks great with these solid neutrals. It would also be awesome if you mixed patterns.

  7. I really love this color combination and the shape of the collar is great. Yellow has slowly been working its way into being one of my favorite colors. You look great.
