Pretty New Necklace and a few Gap Reviews

Hi all!

Before I forget, I'm jumping on the Facebook bandwagon with the blog and have created a page just for Found in my Closet.  Come on over and "like" the page to get blog updates in your daily feed!

I'm starting today off with a fun gift I received from my best friend for Christmas...the gorgeous Mystic Tieback Bib Necklace from Anthropologie.  Leave it to your BFF to know exactly what you'll love!

This is a fab statement necklace...it's bold and beautiful!  The color is especially eye-catching...I love it!  I decided to pair it with some contrasting colors found in this fun cardigan and the soft pink of the tank.  I've had this tank in my closet for many years now and I loved finding a new way to style it!

Much thanks to my BFF, Elise, for hooking me up with such a fun gift!

Last week I was able to sneak away one night and head over to the mall with a very specific mission in mind...to try these on:

So cute, right?  I absolutely fell in love with them while browsing online.  I have one other pair of polka dot jeans (in light grey) already so I know these would fit right into my wardrobe.  I also know I love Gap Always Skinny denim...they are one of my favorite kinds of jeans (behind my beloved AG denim).  I was lucky enough to find them fully stocked at my local Gap so I could try on several sizes to find the right pair, and I'm so glad I did!  They fit a little differently than my regular Always Skinny Jeans.

(I'm now realizing there were many smudges on the fitting room mirror...sorry!)

I usually wear a size 0 Petite in the original Gap Always Skinny denim but after trying on a few pairs of these, I found they ran big.  I found that size 00 regular fit me best.  They have a good bit of stretch and are very comfortable, and will probably stretch out just a little throughout the day so you want to make sure they aren't too baggy to start out.  I decided to pass on them for the time being since they were full price in store, and then ended up getting them the next day online with a coupon code and rewards card in hand.  I scored these and this cute sweater/tunic (below) for just $31 after all the discounts...major score!

And in real life:

This is called a tunic but it's the perfect length sweater on my long torso!  The mint green color is what grabbed my attention...it's super soft and comfy!  I took this in my regular Gap sweater size, an X-Small.  LOVE!

It was great to find a few fab pieces from Gap since I haven't been overly excited about them the past year or so.   Perhaps things are looking up over there!

Have you tried these items on?  What do you think?  Do tell!

Have a great day! =)

  12. I love love love Gap and their jeans. I own quite a few pairs but I recently picked up an always skinny pair in pale pink. I also tried on those polka dot ones but passed because I already have 2 pairs of polka jeans. Though you can never have too much of a good thing right??

Just found your blog and I love it! Following now (:
