A little remixing going on...

Happy Wednesday all!

We're half-way through the week...how's it going for ya?  I'm good!  I've been keeping busy with errands, working out, cleaning house, play dates, etc.  Although being busy is sometimes exhausting, I know I'm happier when I've got stuff going on.  Don't get me wrong, I surely enjoy a day off to lounge in my pj's here and there too! =)

So today I'm taking you back...all the way back to last year (a whole 9 days ago) with these looks.  I still have a few outfits I haven't posted yet from over the holidays so I'm trying to catch up.  I did a lot of remixing in these looks and used a ton of items I've had in my closet for quite some time.  There were a few newer items thrown in there as well for good measure. =)

Original polyvore set for this look can be found HERE

Cabomba Blouse-Anthropologie
Always Skinny Jeans-Gap
Miz Mooz "Siri" Knee-High Boots-Endless (now Amazon)
Double Torsade Necklace-Anthropologie
Strung Hoops-Anthropologie
Marc by Marc Jacobs "Henry Chrono" Watch-Piperlime
Tribute Bracelet-Stella & Dot
Bardot Spiral  Bangle-Stella & Dot
Bow Ring-DownEast Basics

I've had this top for well over a year..maybe two?  Can't remember now.  I love all the colors in it...it is perfect for mixing and matching!  I've worn it with jeans, skirts, heels and boots...it's so versatile! The jeans have also been in my closet for multiple years now and they are my favorite affordable premium jean.  I'd love to grab a second pair at some point!  The boots have been work horses for me since I bought them in the fall 2011 and continue to get used constantly this winter!

Spun Stripes Pullover-Anthropologie
AG Stevie Ankle Denim-Anthropologie
DV by Dolce Vita "Lujan" Boots-Amazon
Tiny Heart Necklace-ETSY
Bracelets-Tiffany
Ring-OLD

I picked this top up a few months ago when it hit sale and I've had these red skinnies since Black Friday 2011.  Everyone needs a red pair of skinnies in their closet...they are so fun! The boots were a recent purchase and have gotten so much use so far!

Eastpointe Garden Top-Anthropologie
Shawl Cardigan-American Eagle (OLD)
Tank-DownEast Basics
Skinny Cords-Gap
Miz Mooz "Kelsey" Boots-Piperlime
Small Circle Necklace-Shabby Apple
Sainte Chapelle Earrings-Anthropologie
Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

The top and cardi in this outfit have both been in my closet for about two years and the skinnies were acquired quite some time ago as well.  I've worn all three pieces multiple times but never together...I love finding new ways to style things in my closet!  When putting this look together I started with a color combination of yellow, green and maroon in mind and came up with this.

Original polyvore set for this look can be found HERE

Winter Beauty Pullover-Anthropologie
Jeggings-American Eagle
Knee-High Socks-Target
Hunter Wellies-Piperlime
Gold Chevron Necklace-Lisa Leonard Designs
Mezzanine Earrings-Anthropologie
Marc by Marc Jacobs "Henry Chrono" Watch-Piperlime
Tribute Bracelet-Stella & Dot

I picked up this top a few years back and love how comfortable it is.  The jeggings were a purchase from last winter and they've become my lazy-day go-to...they are so comfy!  The rain boots have also gotten quite a work out since living in the mid-west...when I bought them last winter I worried we'd move somewhere this past summer where I wouldn't get much use out of them, but that's not been the case at all!

If you've followed my blog for a while I'm sure you've seen many of these items before but the fun of having things you love in your closet is remixing them over and over again to create new looks!

Do you try to remix items in your closet a lot or do you find yourself wearing things the same way over and over again?  I challenge you to choose an item you haven't worn in a while and remix it to create a whole new look.  I'm gonna play along too!  I found this dress hanging in my closet the other day and realized it hadn't seen the light of day for a while:

I happen to really love this dress but the v-neck has always baffled me a little.  For some reason v-necks just aren't my thing and because of that I feel like I've not worn this as much as I could have.  So I came up with a new look for it to solve the problem and I loved it!  Come back tomorrow to see how I styled it!

I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy today for WIWW...head on over if you're looking for more style inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!!

  1. What great remixes! You've inspired me to pull some stuff out of my closet that hasn't seen the light of day in awhile. I love the floral shirt and the cozy outfit with the cords. Great styling.

  2. Jenni have you ever done a wardrobe post that you could link back to? I love seeing the snippets of all your stuff hanging up in the background! Seeing your Eastpoint top with your burgundy jeans reminds me that I need to (hand)wash (urgh) my Bianka blouse. Tomorrow. Hmm. :-)

I love all your post and have been following your blog in my google reader for about a year. I have never posted a comment until now. I really don't have much in common with you (size 00 what the hell is that? I'm 5'8" and my shoulders are twice the size as yours you could fit in my back pocket!) but I really like your blog. I think that means that I like your personality and if we lived in the same town we would be friends. So why am I posting now? I want to see the closet! I spend at least a minute or 2 staring behind you trying to see your closet. I want a tour so clean it up and take some pics. Thanks for inspiring me and I will keep on stalking! Cynthia

  7. nice! i always love your looks. I have a lot of clothes, and I make sure that I wear them all so when my boyfriend gripes at me for overflowing my closet and my dresser and under the bed and his closet, I can say "Yeah, i bought more clothes...but I WEAR them ALL." and i don't feel as guilty :)
