That one time I wore a scarf...

In my husband's closet (we just call it his closet but let's be honest, only half of it is really his) I have two hangers full of scarves.  Most have been gifts, but a few I actually purchased on my own.  I love scarves, but for some reason or another, I hardly ever wear them.  One day, a few weeks back, we had a string of colder days so I decided it was a good opportunity to wear a scarf.  I was trying to come up with an outfit where I could actually leave the scarf on all day...not just wear it when I was outside.  This is what I came up with:

What I Wore:
-Sidebent Tank-Anthropologie
-Cardigan-Banana Republic
-Rockstar Jeggings-Old Navy
-Scarf-H&M (gift from my sis-in-law, Kristen a few years ago)
-Boots-Loft
-Ring-Pree Brulee

Depending on where we move next, scarves may be a necessary part of my daily routine in the winter so at least I'm all stocked up in case I need them!

Can you believe it will be March this week?  Holy cow!  Time flies!  With the start of the new month, I am planning on setting myself up on a new, more strict budget.  These past few months I have failed miserably on my goals of spending less so I decided it's time to make some changes.  Stay tuned later this week to see my list of rules for myself.  Anyone else wanna join in?  There's power in numbers people!!!   Chime in if you want to play along!

Have a great day!!

  1. Oh don't say it is already almost March! That means my sis and I spent big bucks to buy my dad a snow blower for Christmas and he had not used it once this winter! I don't wish a snow storm on the NE, but come on, a couple inches?

  3. I know...March already. It's amazing. Looks like cool weather continues so more scarves can be put into rotation! I'm happy about that.

  4. Oh good, Jenny! I was excited when you posted awhile ago how you were going to spend less and use your closet more, or something like that... like your blog title says. I love to see you remix outfits from your closet. But then it seemed like you just posted new things you were buying! Now I am excited to see what rules you are implementing. Good for you!

    1. I got the XS in the Colorblock top and it fits great. I'm sure that's probably what size you would need too...we seem to be about the same size in most things.

  6. I am always cold so in the winter I layer at every opportunity! I LOVE SCARVES! I don't wear much jewelry, so a scarf can also be a way to jazz up an outfit. Looks great on you today! Love the polka dots.

  7. I'd like to play along. I love looking at style blogs but then I want everything I see. My plan is to make a list of things that are lacking in my closet, set a budget, sell name-brand things I don't wear, and buy fewer pieces that are better quality. No more impulse buys from Target and Old Navy. As for my two favorite stores: Anthropologie (stop buying things just because they on sale!) and absolutely no more JCrew final sale items (burned too many times by fit issues). Can't wait to hear your plan.

    1. I know how you feel...I get sucked in too! I'm thinking March will be a good detox month...to really enjoy what I already have, which is a lot.
