Hi everyone! How's it going? Today we will be spending the day at home as we all of a sudden became a one car family last night. My husband's car died on us unexpectedly yesterday as he was on his way home from work. It's at the shop getting looked at right now but it's not looking good so far...we may be in the market for a new car sooner than we had expected! Hope there are some good 4th of July sales, if so!
Anyways, before the car troubles ensued we had arranged to go out last night, just the two of us...gotta love a middle of the week date night! Ever since we moved here Josh has wanted to go to the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco (he's into that sort of thing) and he had heard that on Thursday nights they do a "Night Life" thing for the adult crowd where they have special exhibits that change weekly that go along with their theme for the night. Last night's theme happened to be centered around the Philippines which is where my husband served his two-year mission for our church so he wanted to go check it out. Me, being the great wife that I am, of course, I agreed to go (if you know me at all, you know this is NOT really my thing). Anyhow, it ended up being kinda neat...the building itself is gorgeous and the exhibits were interesting. We also got to see a show in the Planetarium which was really fun. It was a good night of culture. At one point we went up to the "Living Roof" where we had a great view looking out at Golden Gate park. It was so pretty especially because it was about the time the sun was setting...the lighting was awesome!

Afterwards we headed over to a Mexican Restaurant that we love in the city named "Maya" and had a great dinner. It was about 9:30pm on a Thursday night so it wasn't crowded at all which was nice. We had a fun night and I enjoyed being out on the town. There is something to be said about getting a few hours away with your loved one...there's no one else I'd rather be with than him! =)
Back to today...the day when we're stuck at home with no car. =( Again, if you know me, you would know that I don't like to stay put...I'm sort of a busy body and like to be on the go. Staying home all day is a challenge. I think we'll keep busy by taking a walk (we'll call it "going on a treasure hunt"...the boys will want to go if I call it something fun, right?!), baking a yummy treat, organizing the legos and building some cities and Star Wars ships, getting in my run on the treadmill during nap time, maybe venturing on over to the neighborhood pool for some swimming afterwards, playing some video games, riding scooters...that should get me till 8pm right? Sure hope so!
So I guess I'm not planning on putting an ounce of make-up on today and will be wearing running clothes, a swimsuit or lounge clothes all day long. Why not, right?
Happy Friday!!!
One of our cars died a few months ago too! Arghh! We are saving for another car right now. What a pain. I have been stuck home carless more days than I would like. Glad you guys had a nice date. You look very pretty, as usual.
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful in that dress! I love that shade of red on you, and the lighting in the photo is gorgeous. I am a science nerd (of course), so that sounds awesome. I go to my planetarium every month; had to miss June's due to my swimming job, and I was really sad. Glad you enjoyed it! I need to go to museums more.
ReplyDeleteJenni, this dress is gorgeous on you! you and your hubby make one handsome couple! hope you have a great holiday weekend

ReplyDeleteHope the car issues get worked out soon. That is never any fun to deal with!
Date night sounded so interesting and fun. So glad you got to go. You two are stunning together! So sorry to hear about the car... funny, same thing happened to us during our residency too. He had to jump out of the car on the side of the freeway as the engine was billowing black smoke! We had bought 2 lemons in a row and I had HAD it!! so stressful, but now it won't be a worry any longer. Congrats on the new car. I'd just nickname it "Money."
