What I Wore: Weekend Edition

Hi all! Hope everyone has had a great weekend so far! I had a very easy going day yesterday...my husband took our two oldest up to the slopes for skiing/snowboarding school all day yesterday so it was just me and my youngest at home. My house hasn't been that quiet in a LONG time! The boys loved their lessons and we already have plans to do round 2 sometime in February. After they got home hubby and I got to go out for a date night on our own. We went to dinner and a movie...we saw "The Green Hornet" which was nothing to write home about. There just wasn't a whole lot to choose from. We went to church this morning and now we're home enjoying the rest of the afternoon together. I love the weekends!!!

So for church today I FINALLY got to wear an outfit I've been waiting to wear for a while now..just had to wait for my shoes to arrive to go with it. I fully played copycat to Liz with this outfit...I had already planned on pairing the top and skirt together, but when I saw her wear the same outfit I had planned on with her very cute red shoes I gave in and made them mine as well. So now we could be outfit twins!

Oh, how I love this skirt. It's one that I bought without ever trying on or seeing in real life but when it went on sale with the extra 25% off in December during the tag sale I just couldn't pass up the chance to give it a try. Glad I did!

And here's what I wore last night for date night--no Polyvore set for this one...just the real life photo:

Please excuse the tired look I have going on in this picture...I forgot to take a picture earlier in the day so this was snapped right before I fell into bed around midnight. I bought this sequin top back in the fall and this is the first time I've worn it...I have struggled to figure out what to wear it with honestly. Finally I just decided I could pull it off with a bold colored cardigan and call it good. It's a fun top so I hope to figure out some more ways to style it.

I'm off to do a quick pick-up of my house...since we're all home today that means more messes are made. Gotta take the good with the bad I suppose right?!!

Have a great day!

  2. Love both looks!! I have to admit that I haven't given that sequin top much love either. But now you've inspired me to pair it with my nighfall blue jackie. :) Maybe this week will be Sequin Week.

  3. Love both Jenni, but that first one I am crazy about! How I wish I had gotten the gray top at Anthro to go with my Splendid Celebration skirt. You look great in your new red shoes!!

  7. Great outfits! I really like the skirt in your first look.

I have a similar sequin top and I always have trouble finding ways to style it, especially after the holidays. Yours looks great paired with the cardi and peep toe heels!

  9. Hey Jenni! I know! The weather has been so amazing lately. And this week is going to be nice too! :) I love both your outfits. I love the Glowing Leaf and so glad you "copied" me with the shirt and shoes. It goes so perfect together doesn't it? I love you added the tights and different accessories. So cute and lovely. I LOVE that sequin top! It is super cute! I love the teal with it. It's the perfect amount of "pop of color" the outfit needed! I'm glad you all had a nice weekend up skiing and snowboarding! Hope you have a great week! :)

  12. That sequin top is tooo amazingly cute. And you've now worn your Glowing Leaf two lovely times more than I have. I can't remember if I told you, but I found one on Ebay for $61, and no one bid against me. Not quite as good as the sale price, but for a hard to find item, I'll take it!

  13. The Glowing Leaf Skirt really is something special - love the way you wore it for church! And your date night outfit is gorge - I have that shell but haven't worn it in forever for the exact same reason, I love the outfit you put together!

  17. JENNI, YOU HAVE SUCH GREAT TASTE. I love what you wear all the time and you own some amazing Anthro pieces, J.Crew pieces & Banana pieces. I must say that outfit above with the full floral/gray skirt is one of my favorites you have ever worn and I also love that top (so pretty & cool). The shoes & tights are beautiful, too.

The other outfit is super cute, too and I might have to "copycat" that from you since I own a sequined gray tank and a light blue cardi. It looks great with simple dark jeans and peep-toe pumps!! Once again, looking INCREDIBLE!!
