I also find myself wearing these Lavada Slide sandals from Target a ton...so much so that I now have tan lines on my feet from them.  I even bought a back up pair in case they get destroyed.  They are quite the deal...only $16!

The casual pant

I typically stick to denim bottoms in some form when I get dressed in the morning...unless I'm wearing a skirt or dress.  Occasionally it's crossed my mind that it would be nice to have a casual pant option to pull out instead of always wearing jeans or denim shorts.  

Enter...the Braided Twill Trousers:

I saw these in the store when I was on my girl's weekend trip in Denver and couldn't leave them behind...I loved them!  I wore them a few weeks ago for the first time:

I originally bought the grey motif of these pants but then after realizing they came in an army green motif, I returned the grey and went for those.  The army green will mix and match with more in my closet I think.  It's a great neutral!  They do come in a very cute pink color too though...I'll be watching for those at sale time I think!  One thing I should mention...they run a bit on the big side.  I would have expected to take these in a size 2 because of the material (there's very little to no stretch) but the size 0 was a much better fit so I went with that.

New Favorite Color Combo...an OOTD post!

Happy Tuesday!

We had a great weekend and a very busy Monday so here I am finally getting back to the blog this morning.  It was pouring rain when I woke up to a phone call at 7am saying swim team was cancelled this morning due to weather which means I hung up, turned over, and slept for another hour and a half.  Not gonna lie, it felt great!  Sleeping in has been a rare occasion lately with early morning practices.  The rain has already started to clear (Ohio is a little schizophrenic with it comes to weather) so I think we'll head to the pool later today with friends to enjoy some sun.  

So rumor has it that Anthropologie's Tag Sale begins tomorrow!  I'm not quite sure what it will entail this time around...sometimes it's a percentage off the sale prices, sometimes its just a big markdown...you never know!  I'm excited to see what it'll bring.  There are quite a few things I'm hoping to see get marked down so I'm crossing my fingers!

Friday Favorites...with an OOTD!

Happy Friday!

I literally blinked and the week passed by in an instant!  We have been on the go, non-stop since early Monday morning and there's just no stopping.  Today is my middle son's birthday...we have a big 7 year old on our hands now!  Tomorrow is his birthday party with friends and it's all about Mindcraft!  I've been busy making Creeper T-shirts, pre-cutting "iron swords" for the kids to decorate, making a "Pin the Tail on the Piggie" game (apparently there's Pigs in Mindcraft...who knew?!) and getting all the food ready.  My oldest son is helping out by putting together clues for the kids to go on a 'Creeper Hunt"...I love that he wanted to help out!  Birthday parties are always so fun!

I absolutely LOVE this dress!  It's perfect to wear alone (yay for short sleeves!) or layered like I did here with a denim jacket.  It's bright and cheery and who doesn't love chevron stripes?!  Definitely a favorite in my closet right now.

Speaking of dresses have you seen this one yet?  I am mildly obsessed with it.  As in it's sitting in my cart waiting to be purchased.  Any minute now.  I love the mix of stripes and floral...such fun prints to pair together!  I don't do sleeveless, so it'll have to be layered with a cardi, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice.  Anything for stripes and floral. =)

I'm all about sandals and these lovlies caught my eye this week because of their pretty pink color and fun cutout design.  If I'm gonna wear flats I want them to stand out.  These will definitely do just that!

I really love the look of this necklace.  The colors are great and the simplicity is perfect.  I could see this mixed and matched a million times over with things in my closet!

GapFit Breath Heathered Stripe Tank

I tried this on the other day when I was in Gap and decided right then and there I needed a striped tank in my workout clothes rotation.  So it came home with me.  It's adorable, comfy and comes in multiple colors.  I grabbed it in this green motif (called "Opal" online) and can't wait to wear it to the gym.  You're more likely to want to work out if you look cute doing it, right?!

Weekend Wear (OOTD)

Happy Monday!

This week is gonna be a crazy one!  We've got swim team practices, meets, swim lessons, Cub Scout Day Camp, Taekwondo, #2's birthday and birthday party, a baseball parent meeting, a dental appointment...and the list goes on.  Welcome to summer!  I wouldn't have it any other way...except maybe that I'd get rid of the rain storms we're having today.  Thunderstorms only get in the way of the fun, so I'm hoping they pass through quickly!

Over the weekend we had some breezy weather before the storms arrives, so I actually had the chance to pull out one of my favorite winter cardigan purchases from the past season:

I also wore my new DV by Dolce Vita "Tex" Wedge sandals for the first time...I love them!  I grabbed these over Memorial Day weekend for half off and am so happy with my purchase.   They are definitely keepers!  Just an FYI I found them to run TTS (took an 8.5).

Target Maxi Dress Find

Every season I manage to find a few good clothing finds at my local Target.  This season a maxi dress caught my eye.  I first saw it on my friend in a solid grey color, and it looked so cute on her (shout out to Heidi)!  I went online to see if it came in any other colors so I wouldn't be blatantly copying Heidi's cute find, and found that they also came in a few striped options.  I decided to give this one a try...I mean for only $29.99 how can you afford not to?

I wasn't sure whether to order a size X-Small or Small but when I looked to see what was available, all they had was a Small so that made the decision easy.  Once I received it, I found the fit to be good.  The bust would probably be a little more fitted in the X-Small but overall the Small was fine.  I'm actually glad I got the Small because I fear the X-Small would have been too short.  The one I ordered was about as short as I'd want it.  

A few days after receiving the dress I ran into my friend Heidi at swim team practice and guess what dress she had on...this one!  Great minds think alike!  I mean, can you blame her?  It's so darn cute and when you find a good thing, you buy multiples, am I right?!!  I sure do!  She styled the striped one just how I planned to...with a cute red cardi and sandals.  She once again looked fab!  So this past weekend when my son was invited to a pool party, I pulled out my new maxi dress to wear:

I noticed this morning that the striped version I purchased is pretty well stocked online in most sizes, but the other colorways are either sold out or available in limited stock in a few sizes.  I'd check your local store if you don't see what you want online!

I LOVE both of these J Crew pieces...I've already worn the skirt a handful of times in the past month.  It'll be a great staple in my closet all year long.  The sweater is also a fun item.  It's on the lightweight side so it's great for transition seasons or layered in the colder months.  

Do you ever find images and copycat them?  I think it's so fun to draw inspiration from all over these days!  Catalogs and online retail images are a great place to start, but I always love to check out Polyvore, Fashion blogs and Pinterest to find ideas too.

You can't go wrong with this equation!  It's perfect to keep cool and to run around after kids.  On really hot days a pair of shorts or a maxi dress would be a great substitution so I've stocked up on those as well.  Bring on the heat!
