A red and aqua OOTD, a few recent purchases and some Anthro loves

Happy Thursday!

The weekend is almost here...hanging in there?  It's been a good week...pretty laid back for the most part.  We got some snow overnight and should be getting some more tomorrow...it's another cold one today!

I happen to love the color combination of red and aqua...when I think of the two colors together I immediately think summer, but why can't it be for winter too?

Original Polyvore set for this look can be found HERE

Foreword Tunic-DownEast Basics
Merino Chiffon-Placket Cardigan-J Crew
Jeggings-American Eagle
Miz Mooz "Kelsey" Boots-Piperlime
Mystic Tieback Bib Necklace-Anthropologie
Strung Hoop Earrings-Anthropologie
Marc by Marc Jacobs "Henry Chrono" Watch-Piperlime
Bracelet (hiding under cardigan)-Twisted Silver
Pop Stone Ring-Banana Republic

This is a very matchy-match look, sticking mainly to the red and aqua motif, but sometimes I'm just in the mood to match perfectly.  I'll make sure to wear the whole rainbow in an outfit soon to make up for it. =)

So I thought I'd share a few of my recent purchases with you...I've scored some amazing deals as of late!  Last weekend I went into Gap and found the BEST deals ever!  They were having 40% off all their sale items.  I normally don't have much luck with their sale section...usually it's totally picked over and things are there for a reason but this time was different!

I scored both of these for just under $25!  They were each about $12 on sale...I just couldn't pass that up!  The tee will be great in the summer and can easily be layered right now with a cardigan and the jeans...well, I love a cute pair of colored jeans!  These are a bit neon looking (hence the name) and fall somewhere in-between pink and purple (even though they look more purple online).  Major score!   I actually went back a few days later because I realized I had forgotten to check out their work out pants that were on promo and found a cute umbrella for just $7 too (perfect for London)!  I ended up really liking the pair of workout pants I tried on and brought them home with me to replace the pair I've been wearing since college (they are very faded and sad looking)...if you're looking for a new pair check these out:

They were on promo for $35 in-store.  I have a pair of these in the capri version and have really loved them. Gap has a great workout line, in my opinion!

One other item I picked up on sale a few weeks ago was this bag:

I was able to score this for more than 50% off the retail price at Coach Factory.  I'd been on the lookout for a decent sized, neutral colored purse that had both a shoulder strap and a cross-body option since we'll be walking around a ton when we head to London and Paris. I don't own a single purse that has the cross-body option (except a very small purse I take when I'm without kids once in a while) so this was a great find.  It's a bag I'll use a ton in the future too...the color is neutral but the metallic is gorgeous and gives it a little something extra special. =

Have you found any great deals lately?  Do tell!  I love hearing what others are finding!  I have my eye on a few things at Anthropologie right now...I was lucky enough to win Moody Girl in Style's latest giveaway (thanks so much "Moody Girl"!!!) so now I have an Anthropologie gift card burning a hole in my pocket. Never a bad thing!  What have you picked up there lately that you'd recommend?

Here's a few things I'm loving from there right now:

Alrighty, off to start my day!  Hope you have a great one!

  5. Lol it doesn't rain all the time here! In fact it hasn't rained for weeks now. Due to rain heavily on Sunday though thankfully & wash all the snow & ice away.

    1. hahah...there I go generalizing the country, huh? I just imagine it raining a lot for some reason. Good to know it doesn't rain all the time! =)

    2. he he I don't mind the generalisation and tbh it's not the first time I've seen it from a US blogger. We do have reputation for endless rainy summers and us Brit bloggers will whinge about the rain when it washes out June and July for example. So you can call me out on it then ;-) Bring your brolly sure but don't panic too much, in fact just keep checking the Met Office the week before you come over, they offer a % chance of rain for each day and it's usually pretty accurate!

s like 17 degrees outside I just can't bring myself to buy it yet. Soon hopefully!!! =)

  12. Jealous of your good deals/finds! I just went in to Anthro today, and couldn't really find anything that was worth their still-pretty-high sale prices. But I did score a really cute white necklace and some opaque tights for $10.

  16. Awesome outfit!! The purple skinner jean is looking great. Planning to buy these pattern leggings for myself too as they are trendy in fashion and are quite good for workout. Have seen an online store where they are available on affordable rates.
