Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween!

I realize to many I'm saying this a day early, but here in Ohio our entire community celebrates Halloween on October 30th.  Halloween parties at school are today and trick-or-treating is tonight.  I have personally never heard of such a thing but the locals assure me I'm the odd one for never experiencing Halloween on the 30th before.  Hmmm...not sure I'm convinced.  Regardless, we're jumping on the bandwagon and joining in!

Not only is today our Halloween, but it's the first official day of snow!  It flurried a little yesterday morning but this morning we woke up to it actually on the ground.  It's continued to flurry all morning and it's gorgeous!  I'm not sure how pretty I'll think it is tonight when the kids want to trick-or-treat in it but for now, from the comfort of my well-heated office as I type in my robe and thick socks, it's beautiful!

Over the weekend hubby and I went out with some friends and enjoyed a kid-free night. It was cold out so I threw on some boots and layers...I have a feeling this idea of layering will be quite over-used this winter. =)

Satiny Ruffle Trim Top-Old Navy/ Bookstore Cardi-DownEast Basics/ Jeggings-American Eagle/ Miz Mooz "Siri" Knee-High Boots/ Tarn Necklace-Anthropologie/ Strung Hoop Earrings-Anthropologie/ Sparkling Dome Ring-Forever 21

Lots of oldies but goodies from my closet in this outfit...remix city!

I'm off to get the festivities started.  I'm running on fumes today...4 hours of sleep from staying up late making sugar cookies and stuffing treat bags for my 1st graders Halloween party this afternoon.  How do I get talked into being room mom every year?  (I actually love it...I just don't love my mad procrastination skills...gotta work on those).

Happy Halloween!

PS--My heart goes out to all those affected by hurricane Sandy.  I hope that the damage can be cleaned up quickly and that people's lives can return to normalcy soon.  We have family in NYC (holla!!) and as far as I know they are safe, perhaps without power.  Such a scary thing.  Anyhow, just wanted to remember the east coast today in my thoughts today.

Pinterest Styling Inspiration--Take 1

Like many fashion blog readers, I am obsessed with Pinterest.  I can't really remember life without it!  I mean, seriously, what's a cook book?  If you can't find a recipe on Pinterest, it just doesn't exist, am I right?! It's such a valuable resource to have around.  It's like the Target of online sites.  One stop shopping for anything and everything you're looking for...and it's all free!  It's like window shopping from home!  Can we get any lazier? =)

I recently pinned the cutest outfit styled by the cute Alison from Get Your Pretty On.  When I saw it I wished I had thought of it on my own!  I loved it!  It paired the hot fall color oxblood and red...two colors I don't think I ever would have paired together on my own.  See her outfit HERE.

And my version:

Top-Gap Outlet (SUPER OLD--bought it for family pictures about 4 years ago and never wore it...this is the first time it's seen the light of day!)/AG Stevie Ankle Denim-Anthropologie/ Leopard-Spotted Skinny Belt-Anthropologie/ Anticipation Heels-Anthropologie/ Necklace-Stella & Dot/ Earrings-Ruche/ Marc by Marc Jacobs Henry Chrono Watch-Piperlime/ Multitexture bangles-Nordstrom/ Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

I gave the half-tuck a try for the first time.  It felt a little odd at first but I made it the whole day without messing with it.    I can't believe I have never worn this top before...every time I go to clean out my closet something has held me back from purging it (I'm WAY over the "if you haven't worn it in a year, toss it" rule).  I'm so glad I held onto it because it was perfect for re-creating this look!

Do you find outfit inspiration on Pinterest?  Do you every actually apply that inspiration to your outfits?  DO tell!  I plan to share more of my Pinterest-inspired looks here on my blog soon so stay tuned!

And DO come on over and follow me on Pinterest...you can find me HERE!

Happy Friday!

Catching my eye...accessories edition

Just a few things that have caught my eye this week...

Lisa Leonard Designs introduced their newest release yesterday and it was a pleasant surprise to see they are now carrying gold products!  I happen to LOVE LOVE LOVE this cute necklace...it seriously may be heading my way...I'm very tempted!  It's so simple and perfect!  I've had great experiences purchasing jewelry from here in the past so I can personally recommend them!

I am always on the lookout for a great belt and this one from Anthropologie does not disappoint!  Most of their belts have the design on the front section of the belt and then turn into an elastic band around the back, but this one carries the cute scallop design around the entire length of the belt.  It does run a little small so size up to be able to buckle it right in the center so there's no gap.

It's no secret I love jewelry from Anthropologie and these cute earrings are no exception.  The color combination is perfection and they could be mixed and matched with a ton.  They're big enough to be seen but not too overwhelming at just 1 1/2" length.

A new to me site, Brighthouse Baubles, has the cutest Bubble Bracelets on sale for just $9.99 right now, normally $18 (sale goes through tomorrow (Friday)...get your deal offer through their Facebook Page HERE).  It's such a great deal!  They come in a variety of colors and are totally adorable.  The only problem is deciding which color to get!

You can also enter a giveaway on the cute blog Minted Glam to win a Navy Bubble Bracelet of your very own...click HERE to enter!

What has caught your eye lately?

Wearing the Rainbow...again!

Recently I've sort of been obsessed with the combination of coral and navy blue. I don't know why, but I've been so drawn to this color combination lately!  I love the way they look together.  On Sunday morning I decided to pull out my Field Scout Skirt (that I got on sale for just $19.99 a few years back).  I started looking for every navy top I could find in my closet to pair with the skirt for church.  After a few failed pairing attempts, I came across a top I got with a gift card I received for my birthday a few years ago.  I then added a cardigan because it's October in Ohio and it's cold outside now, so I threw in yet another color...Seafoam green.  To finish off the look I thought I'd go a little nuts and put on some mustard yellow pumps because in my eyes mustard yellow is kind of like a neutral (am I right or just crazy?)  And I give you the rainbow:

Celosia Cardigan-J Crew/ Top-Nordstrom/ Field Scout Skirt-Anthropologie/ Shimmer Dust Belt-Anthropologie/ Seychelles "Password Pump"-Nordstrom/ Necklace-Nordstrom (OLD)/ Squared Enamel-Link Bracelet-J Crew/ Gold Rung Earrings/ Ring-F21

Call me crazy but I kind of like all these colors together!  Is it any surprise one of my favorite shows as a little girl was Rainbow Brite?  I think not.  =)

I'm linking up to WIWW on The Pleated Poppy today...head on over to see tons of great outfit ideas!

Crew Love, a new purse and family picture outfitting

It's no secret I love me some J Crew.  I don't swoon over every piece they offer but I'm definitely a fan of their classics.  Their cardigans, pencil skirts and jewelry are what I'm drawn to the most.

The proof:

Dot Flouncette Blouse-J Crew/ No 2 Pencil Skirt in Double-Serge Wool-J Crew/ Traversa Cardigan-J Crew/ Vince Camuto Elanie Pump/ Necklace-J Crew Factory/ Crystal Blossom Drop Earrings-J Crew Factory/Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

I honestly didn't realize I was (almost) all fully decked out in offerings from the Crew until I looked in the mirror.  Kind of funny.

Over the weekend I decided to hit up the outlets to finish up our family picture outfit shopping.  Hubby still needed something to wear.  Thankfully the Banana Republic Outlet came to the rescue and they had the perfect sweater for him.  Across from Banana is the Coach outlet so I popped in to see what they had. I went in a few weeks ago looking for a fall purse, but left empty-handed. I wasn't too impressed with their offerings.  I figured I'd probably have the same experience this time around, but they must have just gotten a new shipment in because there were a lot of new items I hadn't noticed before.  I walked around for a bit and then my eyes met with this:

Hello gorgeous!  The color was what got my attention.  I love it!  It's such a fun pop!  While I had planned on getting a more neutral bag (and I still may if I find a great deal) I knew I couldn't pass this bag up.  It would be coming home with me. Sometimes you just have to go for a little color.  It was a rocking deal too...just about 1/3 as much as the retail price.  Yes, please!

As for our family pictures that are this Saturday, here's what I finally decided on:

Fall 2012 Family Pictures

The weather forecast isn't looking too good for Saturday with 50% chance of rain so I'm hoping that changes in a hurry!  We'll see.  Have you taken family pictures yet this year?  We take ours every fall, much to my family's dismay.  I always use them for our Christmas cards, which is the next project...finding a Christmas card! Plus I just like having a picture taken every year to see the changes in everyone...it's fun to look back and see when my husband started going a little gray, or when I no longer looked like a teenager.  =)

I'm off to get my day started.  #3 and I are headed to our weekly date at the trampoline gym (open gym for preschoolers) and then I'm going to brave the nearest Wal Mart for Halloween candy for tonight's Trunk-or-Treat.  Woo hoo! =)

Have a great day!

The Good Ole' Closet Classics

There are certain items I always refer to as my "closet classics".  These are the workhorse items that get used over and over and over again.  I have several.  Some of these closet classics are jeans, some are cardigans, some are shoes.  Some were a little more expensive, others have been relatively cheap.  My closet has a little bit of everything.  Last week I pulled out some classics and paired them together to create this look:

Gathering Tank-Anthropologie/ AG Stevie Ankle Denim-Anthropologie/ Denim Jacket-Gap/ Miz Mooz "Siri" Knee-High Boots-Endless (now Amazon)/ Drawing Room Necklace-Anthropologie/ Sainte Chapelle Earrings-Anthropologie/ Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

This top has been in my closet for a few years...I liked it so much that I bought it in multiple colors.  It's fantastic for layering.  The AG denim was a sale purchase last year...and one of my favorite pairs of jeans, hands down.  I picked up this denim jacket just last month for only $21 with a promo code and a rewards card in hand...not bad for a staple denim jacket!  The boots were my go-to boots last winter, and are still strong in the winter shoe rotation...love these!  Well worth the cost.  All the jewelry has been worn multiple times...especially that ring.  I actually lost the ring while we were in the middle of our move this summer and I was devastated   I loved it so much!  As soon as we were close to a J Crew retail store again I went in and had them track me down another to replace the one I lost.  I think I may have gotten the last one in the country because that sucker was hard to find!  As you can see every piece in this outfit has been in my closet for a while (except the jacket) and have become closet classics in more ways than one.

Of course I have many more closet classics hanging in my closet than just these...there are a lot.  I like being able to mix and match the things I love, to create new looks.  I want to keep trying harder to remix what I have already and find new ways to liven up my classics.  Changing up the way you style or pair something is an easy way to make an item feel brand new!

What are your closet classics?

Have a great weekend!!!

A few things that have caught me eye...and an OOTD!

Happy Thursday!

We woke up to another rainy, overcast day here in the mid-west...I have nowhere to be until early afternoon so I'm kind of enjoying it as I'm cuddled up on the couch, still warm in my pj's.  I welcome a lazy morning here and there.  The giant pile of laundry that needs to be folded is calling my name but I refuse to acknowledge it for just a bit longer.  =)

A few days ago I finally pulled out my camera.  It's been sitting in my camera bag in my room since we moved this summer.  Bad.  I decided to try to set it up to take a self-timer picture of what I was wearing instead of using my iPhone like usual...my family room has tons of natural light so I tried that spot out first.

Field Game Cardigan-Anthropologie/ Twist & Flounce Tank-Anthropologie/ Jeggings-American Eagle/ Anticipation Heels-Anthropologie/ Necklace and Earrings-J Crew Factory/ Marc by Marc Jacobs Henry Chrono Watch-Piperlime/ Bangles-Gap Outlet/ Ring-Forever 21

I seriously need a tripod.  You should have seen me setting this up on a stool, box and then a towel to get the height needed.  "Make it work" came to mind.  Thanks for the inspiration, Tim Gunn.  Oh, anyone else watching the Project Runway finale tonight?  Can't wait!  Random, sorry. =)

So I've been browsing online for the past day and a half to come up with outfits to wear for our family pictures next week...nothing like throwing this together at the last minute!  I've decided to go with a casual look for pictures...jeans, layered shirt blouse and cardi, riding boots...it just feels appropriate with the changing leaves and colder weather.  I had thought about wearing a dress for a bit, but just couldn't come up with anything I loved.  Hopefully it'll all come together.  As I've been browsing I've come upon some items I am loving and thought I'd share:

I ordered this scarf to wear in our family pictures...crossing my fingers it looks ok on me and doesn't take over my whole upper body.  I LOVE the color, along with the other 4 colors that are offered.  The price is right at just $22 also!

This is called a dress, but I would actually wear it as a tunic.  The petite version is just 32.25" long which would be perfect.  It would be even more perfect if the petite sizes showed up online...I'm assuming those are forthcoming.  Wish listed!

SO CUTE!  These come in tons of colors...I'm definitely jumping on this trend this fall/winter...love it! Give yourself plenty of time to order from this store as each item is made-to-order.  Shipping takes 3-4 weeks.  These are perfect stocking stuffers!

I have been on the lookout for some rose gold colored bracelets and these are perfect!  Super affordable too at just $16 for a set of 6.

And just for good measure, I'll share with you one of my many favorites from the new J Crew releases this morning...is this dress not perfection?

Totally AMAZE.  Love it.  Gotta have it.  On sale, please. =)

What are you loving right now?  Any of these strike your fancy?

Alrighy, off to attack my tower of laundry.  Wish me luck.  Have a great day!

Feeling Sunny...and family pictures are coming!!!

Last week was a little bit of a dreary week when it came to the weather...it was overcast and rainy most days.  I found myself gravitating towards bright, happy colors to make up for the lack of sunshine outside, I suppose.  I picked up this sweater at Banana Republic last month when hubby and I were out on a date night, browsing the local outdoor mall.  When we walked into Banana Republic they handed up a "mystery"coupon when we walked into the store and lucky for us it said we got 40% off our whole purchase.  Thank you very much!  I'm never one to pass up a deal so this cute sweater found it's way home with me that night for just about $35:

Elbow Patch Zip sweater-Banana Republic (now sold out online--check stores)/ Skinny Jeans-Banana Republic Dollhouse Boots-Endless (now Amazon)/ Drawing Room Necklace-Anthropologie/ Double Hoop Earrings-Banana Republic/ Ring-Forever 21

I loved the cute elbow patches and the zipper on the shoulder...it's all about the details!

This is definitely a comfy, casual, mom-on-the-go look...I think I had a bunch of errands to run that day if I remember correctly.

So it's that time of year...family pictures time!  We are scheduled to get our pictures taken in a week and a half and guess what...I have no idea what we're all wearing!  AHHH!!!  Hopefully I can figure it all out quickly!  At least I already had a hair appointment lined up for this weekend to get a fresh trim and color...that's one thing to cross off the list. Usually I have certain color combinations in mind at least but this time around nothing is coming to me.  I hadn't planned on getting them taken so soon but that's just the way it worked out so I'll be mad dashing to the mall and browsing online the next few days to come up with something.  I'm sure I make a much bigger deal than is needed out of figuring this all out, but it's only once a year so I of course want it to be perfect (even though we all know it never is...let's be real...I can dream though, right?!!!)  If you have seen a great family picture lately send me a link!  I'd love any and all ideas!

Have a great day!

Stay at Home Mom Fall Must Have's

I've been a stay-at-home mom for almost 9 years now (geez, I'm getting old).  It's true, the wardrobe necessities of a stay-at-home-mom and a working mom are quite different.  Gone are the days of wearing pumps and pencil skirts on a daily basis for me, but does that give a stay-at-home-mom reason to resort to sweats and tennis shoes daily?  NO WAY!!!  Us stay-at-home-mommas have plenty of reason to look cute and put together too...ourselves!  I know I look and feel so much better if I take the extra time to try to put myself together in something I like and am comfortable in.  I really think with just a little effort, a lot of self confidence can be built.  Do I get all dressed up every single day?  No.  But most days I try.

There are certain items in my wardrobe that I use more than others.  I've been asked many times what my must-have items would be if I could only fit a few into my budget so I thought I'd share my fall must-have wardrobe pieces for the stay-at-home-mom...in no particular order...

1. The Riding Boot

I can't tell you how many days in the fall and winter I wear a pair of riding boots.  I have owned many pairs over the years and have found paying a little extra for quality is the way to go (leather is great).  I also think a good fit makes all the difference.  I have smaller legs so I try to find some with a smaller circumference opening.  Many sites offer wide-calf options now for those who find that helpful too, which is great!  I own both brown, black, heeled, wedge heeled, flat, over the knee...I really do like my boots.  =)  You have to find what works best for you!  If I was to only pick one pair though, I'd buy a really great flat cognac/medium brown boot.  It seems to be the most versatile kind in many wardrobes and can be mixed and matched with so much.  Us mommas are on our feet a lot so finding a cute, yet comfortable shoe is important! One word of advice to help your boots last longer...treat them with a weather protector before you wear them.  It will help them look good so much longer!  Here are a few options I like:

MIz Mooz "Kelsey"
Piperlime
(30% off right now)

(I bought this pair for fall and LOVE them!  They are the perfect medium brown color.  I took them in my regular Miz Mooz size, 8 1/2.

This boot comes in 5 different colors...I happen to love them in Dark Grey leather too!

Other boot trends I love this fall: Wedge boots!

2. The Bold Necklace

The most inexpensive way to freshen up an outfit, or even change the look of an item, is to add a bold statement necklace.  I happen to be a necklace "collector" (sounds nicer than hoarder) and feel naked if I don't have one around my neck pretty much every day.  While I do wear daintier pieces here and there, I love a great, bold statement piece.  While some stay-at-home moms may be at a point in their lives where a necklace isn't practical (baby likes to pull anything and everything and may break a necklace) a bold necklace is the accessory to help you feel put together and fresh.  Here are a few of my fall favorites:

I am dying over this necklace...a fall must-have in my book!

Other jewelry trends I love this fall: Stacking bracelets!

3. The "Holds Everything" Purse

As all moms know (stay-at-home and working moms) a purse that holds everything you will need while you're out with your kiddos is a necessity! As my kids have gotten older, I've been able to downsize a little so I don't necessarily need the most gigantic purse they sell anymore like I used to.  I like to be somewhere in the middle when it comes to the size of the handbag I carry.  Not too big, but not too small.  For the fall and winter months I like to carry either a darker, bold color or a more neutral colored handbag, which is what I've been on the search for the past few weeks actually.  I also think paying a little more for a nicer, more well made handbag isn't a bad idea.  Like boots, handbags seem to last longer and look nice longer if you pay a little more more for them.  Do I always buy the most expensive bags?  No, not at all.  Sometimes I just love the way a purse looks and if it's not made of leather, so be it.  I just buy it knowing it will be have to be replaced eventually, probably sooner than later.  Here are some great hand bag options for the stay-at-home mom this fall that might work for you:

I love the hobo style of this purse...this is one of my top contenders right now!

This is my DREAM purse this fall...WAY over my budget and never gonna happen, but if I could find a similar purse to this I'd be a happy camper.  The pleating is so cool!  It's absolutely gorgeous!

This bag comes in 5 fab fall colors.  I love the Hobo style on this one too...one strap is easy to use!

Other handbag trends I love this fall: printed and textured hand bags...like this one!

4. The Everyday Coat

The first thing that comes to mind as I'm walking out the door to go anywhere is "Does everyone have a coat on??"   That being said, I sometimes forget to grab one for myself!  Anyone else do this?  Obviously I need one too!  Up until a few years ago I owned about 3 coats at any given time.  A brown one, a black one and a heavy puffer jacket for the snow. That one was usually black or brown too.  Pretty boring, I know.  Now I see coats as not only a necessity, but an accessory!  They complete an outfit, especially if you live somewhere that gets pretty cold in the winter, like I do now!  While it's good to have a variety of coats (trench, denim, ski, etc) probably the most important is the everyday coat that you can throw on daily to keep you warm.  A coat that is not too bulky so you can easily move and keep up with the kids but one that is still warm and cozy is a must.  One big thing to decide before investing in a good everyday coat is to decide what length you want to get...hip and thigh length are the most popular lengths and the most widely sold.  I personally like a thigh length coat because it covers more and keeps you warmer.  Another thing to decide is whether or not it's important to you to have a hood on your coat.  I personally don't need a hood as I usually use an umbrella anyways so this is not a deal breaker for me.  Price points for a good coat are all over the board...you can find a good coat at any price I think.  Here are some great everyday coat options for the stay at home mom:

This is very cute in white too!  I like that it has a detachable hood.

This is another item way out of my budget but oh my goodness, it's gorgeous!  Maybe it'll still be around for 3rd sale cuts?  =)

Other everyday coat trends I love this fall: Patterned Trench Coats!

5. The iPhone Case

We as say-at-home moms (working moms too!) are always depending on our phones to keep in touch with people, keep our schedules in order and to check Instagram, Facebook, etc...I don't know about you but my life is on my phone!  Might as well have a cute case on that little accessory!  I'm in the market for a new case myself as my current one is on it's last leg (dropped one too many times).  Here are a few fun cases I'm eyeing to possibly update my phone with:

This one is perfect for the holidays...a little glitz and glam in the palm of your hand!

Leopard print is always classic in the fall!

So those are my top 5 categories of stay-at-home-mom must haves for this fall.  Do you own any of these items?  Like them?  Dislike them?

 Chime in!

What to Wear: Weekend Edition

On the weekends I usually have lots of errands to run, a few activities to do and I try to make some time for relaxing as well.  I like to be comfy, yet try to look cute and put together.  Here in the mid-west it's all about layers right now as the colder months have begun.  I'm quite thankful for the collection of cardigans I've acquired over the past few years as they are getting a workout, daily!  Last weekend was the Fall Festival at my kids' school.  I wanted to dress comfortably enough to be walking around playing the games with them so here's what I came up with:

Foreword Tunic-Down East Basics/ Blanched & Buckled Cardigan-Anthropologie/ Jeggings-American Eagle/ Dollhouse Boots-Endless (now Amazon)/ Rotary Dial Necklace-Anthropologie/ Double-Hoop Earrings-Banana Republic/ Ring-Forever 21

Original set idea can be found HERE on Polyvore.  I changed out the shoes for practicality reasons and the jewelry because I was in the mood to wear this necklace. =)

When I saw this tunic on Down East's site last month I immediately ordered it. I absolutely love it!  It's the perfect tunic length and the print and colors are a very cute combination.  It's very similar to a top Anthro offered a few years back but this one fit me much better and was a fraction of the cost...it's a win-win!

What are your go-to pieces for the weekend?  Do you glam it up?  Do you dress down?  Or somewhere in the middle like me?

What are you up to this weekend?  Tonight we're taking the kids to see the movie "Frankenweenie".   I love holiday movies!  This one looks really cute so hopefully it's a hit for all.  Tomorrow is the annual craft day for the women at my church so I'll be heading over to that to get my craft on.  This is the first time in 5 years I get to just go and enjoy the day without being in charge of it so I'm excited!

Whatever you're up to this weekend, have a good one!

Remix: Shabby Apple Sheep Meadow Dress

A few weeks ago I was searching through my closet on a Sunday morning trying to decide what to wear.  I saw this dress peeking out at me and looked at it wondering how I could make it a little more appropriate for fall.  I pulled it out, tried it on and started to look through my cardigan shelves to see which color jumped out at me.  When my eyes met with this champagne/pale purplish colored cardi I knew that was it.  I knew exactly which shoes to pair with it too.  And just like that, a new outfit was made from what I found in my closet!  If only it always came to me this easy...

Sheep Meadow Dress-Shabby Apple/ Bow Cardigan-Loft/ Mixed Media Heels-Anthropologie/ Necklace-Fossil/ Crackled Mosaic Bracelet-Anthropologie/ Bangles-Gap Outlet/ Earrings-Pree Brulee/ Flower Bud Ring-J Crew.

I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy today for WIWW!  Check it out...there's tons of fab outfit ideas to see!

Happy Wednesday!

PS--The second this gorgeous navy trench hit sale this week at Anthro I realized I legitimately forgot to include in on my October wish list...consider it inserted.

I have been waiting for this gorgeous coat to go on sale ever since it came out and it finally came down in price on Monday.  I was so happy to score one in my size through CS since it said it was all sold out online, and it should be arriving today!  Perfect timing...it's raining out this morning, again! This is one of those items I know I'd regret if I passed up.  The navy is now all sold out online but the beige is still fully stocked.  Even if you were hoping for the navy, I would bet you'd be able to call CS and have them locate one for you.  I've learned with their new system that even if an item says its sold out online, CS will tell you over the phone it's still possible to order it.  I am not a fan of the new system, but at least when you see "SOLD OUT" you can now know it's usually just a fib.

October Shopping Plan

I can't believe it's already October!  It's the start of my favorite months of the year...bring on the holidays!  It's been a while since I mapped out a plan for shopping...the past few months I've picked things up haphazardly, but this month I want to try to stick to more of a plan.  Here's what I'm thinking:

1. Riding Boots--I need to update my black and grey pairs of boots so we'll see which way I go first.  I need to find some with a circumference of 13"-14" around preferably, to fit around my chicken legs well.  It always seems to prove difficult to find a pair with that requirement!

2. Infinity Scarf--I tried this cute scarf on at American Eagle last week and fell in love with it!  It's light-medium weight, soft (knit), and not too short or too long.  The colors would go with a ton in my closet too.  I own scarves, but not one infinity scarf, so this would be a different look than I'm used to.

3. Something Peplum--This is a trend I want to try out, and this cute top from Anthropologie might be the way to go!  I am dying to try this one as the color is totally calling out to me!  I also love the texture the lace provides...it's so pretty!

4. PavĂ© Link Bracelet--This bracelet is amazing.  It's completely fabulous!  I love the chunkiness of it...it's a total statement piece.  It's pretty pricey at the moment so I'm holding out for a sale...hoping it's still around by then!

5. Fire & Firmament Necklace--I ended up picking up this necklace on sale last week on the first day of the month.  It was on my birthday wish list so when it went down in price I was excited to add it to my collection!

6. Fall Purse--I have loved using my Kate Spade bag my husband got me this summer, but it doesn't have a closure on top so I have found it to be difficult to use when it rains.  I had planned on purchasing a new hand bag for fall anyways but the rain is causing it to be a "must" more than a "want", even.  I can't let my wallet and iPhone get drenched every time I get out of the car!  I am LOVING the pleated Coach bags right now, and think this neutral color would be so perfect for fall, but again, I'm hoping to find something for a little less.  I think I'll make my way to the Coach outlet this week and see what they have...perhaps a similar style for much less?  Crossing my fingers!

7. Seychelles "Hot & Bothered" Sandal--I've had these sandals on my radar for quite sometime now.  They are certainly a fall transition shoe more than anything, since it has an open-toe...I tried to forget about them but I keep coming back to them, thinking they'd be totally cute with wide legged denim.  I'll be keeping an out for a sale on these cute shoes!

I'm going to try to mostly stick to my list this month but will allow myself to grab something off the list if it's something I really love.  You never know what deal you may find!!  A few items on the list are bigger ticket items this month (boots and purse) so my primary focus will be mostly on those.

What are you on the lookout for this month?  Are you sticking to a wish list?  Do tell!

Floral Friday

Happy Friday!

So I did a little digging in my closet the other day and came across this floral top I picked up from Nordstrom a few years back.  I love the fall colors and the longer length.  It's perfect for layering!  I've worn it with oranges and dark denim mostly in the past so this time I thought I'd change it up a bit...

Blouse-Nordstrom (BP)/ Whirl & Wind Cardigan-Anthropologie/ Skinny Cords-Gap/ Miz Mooz "Siri" Knee-High Boots-Endless (now Amazon)/ Belt-The Limited/ Necklace-Nordstrom (SUPER old)/ Marc by Marc Jacobs Henry Chrono Watch-Piperlime/ Flower Bud Ring-Nordstrom/ Sainte Chappelle Earrings-Anthropologie

Funny that I've had most all of these pieces in my closet for quite a while now but have never thought to pair them all together...every once in a while my remixing skills decide to surface I guess.

So I'm a few days behind, but did anyone get anything fun on sale at Anthro this week?  I picked up just one item...the Fire & Firmament Necklace that was on my birthday wish list hit sale so I happily snatched one up!

I'm really loving these colors together and have a few outfit ideas in the works for it already:

I just need the Lace Peplum Blouse first...which by the way, I'm totally in love with!!!!  And I decided to go with the Gap Denim Jacket after trying on a few different ones (AE jackets included--they were super cropped on my long torso).  So happy I was able to find my size!

And as soon as this dress hits sale I'm all over it!!  For now I can dream. =)

Alrighty, off to start my day.  Have a great weekend!

Boot Weather

Last week was the first time I pulled out a pair of boots to wear...the cooler fall temps are making it easy to welcome back boots into my wardrobe rotation.  I decided to pair them with a top I scored on sale at Banana Republic on our house hunting trip back in June.  With the sale price and a rewards card I had at the time, I brought this blouse home for just $6!

Have you busted out your boots yet?

I'm off to spend the day with my hubby...he had the day off today so we're planning on running some errands and having lunch together with Mr. 3 year old as well, of course.

Have a good day!

What I Wore: Ankle Booties

Last week I broke out my new ankle booties and took them for a spin...

Forever Fond Top-Down East Basics/ Far From Whistler Cardigan-Anthropologie
Jeggings-American Eagle/ DV by Dolce Vita "Pilar" Booties/ Beaconed Treasures Necklace-Anthropologie/ Bangles-Gap Outlet/ Marc by Marc Jacobs Henry Chrono Watch-Piperlime/ Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

Check out my original set idea HERE on Polyvore.

I love them!  They are very comfortable and are super stable...it hardly feels like you're walking on a heel of any kind...my kind of shoe!  Ahh, the beauty of wedge heels.

Off to do lots of housework today, so it'll be a not-so glamorous day when it comes to what I wear. Unless you call a sweatshirt and lounge pants stylish (I do not). =)

Have a great day!
