Weekend Round-up--What I Wore

Happy Monday everyone!  The weekend went by SOOOO fast, agreed?  It's never long enough!  I had a very busy, but fun weekend.  I feel like my next two months of weekends are already booked solid with parties, school functions, family gatherings, traveling, graduation and doing last minute things we still want to fit in before we move.  I have a feeling the next 60 days are going to be a whirl wind, but I plan on enjoying every bit of it!

On Friday hubby and I snuck away for dinner and a movie...we finally saw The Hunger Games.  Neither of us have read the books but we were both intrigued.  After I got past the tragic aspects of the plot I actually thought it was a pretty well made, entertaining movie.  It was very interesting, to say the least.  I decided to shop my closet and pulled out a top from oft I hadn't worn in a while:

What I Wore
Tank-Loft
Cardigan-Old Navy
Toothpick Ankle Denim-J Crew Factory
Lemon Stick Wedges-Anthropologie
Necklace and Bracelets-Tiffany
Candy Bowl Ring-Banana Republic
Earrings-Nordstrom (BP)

On Saturday I had to head up to Roseville to pick up a few dining room chairs I had ordered a while back (3 crazy boys=2 broken dining room chairs) so I figured I'd take advantage and stop in at Anthro for some returns and try-ons.   I'll have some fitting room reviews for you soon!  Here's what I wore:

What I Wore
Hace Sol Peasant Top-Anthropologie
Layering Tee-Shade Clothing
1969 Lightweight Always Skinny Cropped Jeans-Gap
Wedge Sandals-Nordstrom
Bubble Necklace-J Crew Factory
Bracelets-Anthropologie and Down East Basics
Crystal Blossom Drop Earrings-J Crew Factory
Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

I have to share one of my favorite finds of the day...I'm thinking about adding these to my closet in May:

LOVE the color of these cute crops...they are super fun!  I've been trying to find mint jeans for a while now and these might be the answer!  They're not a true mint...they're like mint with a twist of lime...love!

On Sunday I got dressed up for church as usual...I went floral this week:

What I Wore
Stroke of Midnight Dress-Down East Basics
Slip-Quincee's Boutique
Seychelles Come Dancing Peep-Toe Pumps-Amazon
Necklace-J Crew Factory
Bracelets-Nordstrom and Gap Outlet
Crystal Blossom Drop Earrings-J Crew Factory
Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

And that's the weekend round-up!

Hope the new week gets off to a great start for you!

Crest-Cut Wedges Review, my Chevron Stripes OOTD and some Forever 21 golden finds!

Hi everyone!  We're back to my favorite day of the week...hello Friday!  I'm so excited for the weekend!  My Anthro order from last week's sale arrived a few days ago, so I wanted to do a quick review of the Crest-Cut Wedges since so many were asking about them. So here's the deets:

I ordered these cute shoes in two sizes since I had never tried them on before.  I usually take a size 8 1/2 in Miss Albright shoes but read conflicting reviews on how they ran so better to be safe than sorry and sold out  I say!  I tried both sizes on and the 8 1/2's were indeed the clear winner.  If you own or have tried on the Chiseled Wedges from the fall/winter season then go with the exact same size you wear in those because the fit is identical to them.  The 8's went on but my feet were squeezed into the toe box.  I have pretty narrow feet but I didn't feel like you had to have narrow feet to fit into these.  There was room to spare, but not too much.  The Crest-Cut Wedges are super comfortable...I literally didn't want to take them off!  The one major difference between the product shot of the shoes and the shoes themselves, is the color.  I was expecting them to be a true lilac purple color, but they are actually a pinkish-purplish color.  Much more pink than purple in my opinion.

See for yourself:

Awkward Side-view shot where my foot is almost coming out of the shoe...sorry...not the best picture.  I promise it does fit my foot better than this looks!

The discrepancy in color was not an issue to me, as I loved the shoe and think it will be a great summer neutral.  That being said, some of the outfits I planned on wearing these shoes with won't really be able to pan out because they are not that true lilac color I thought they were (ie--graduation outfit I had planned...these shoes are a no-go with the dress I'm wearing...back to the drawing board for that one).

One thing a lot of people complained about in the reviews was that the shoes were scratched, or worn-looking when they got them.  I didn't find this to be a big issue.  There were a few marks on the shoes, but it's the way their meant to be.  The Anticipation Heels from a few seasons back are made of the same material and have the same almost-worn look to them but they look good that way and it adds character.  It didn't bother me at all.

So overall these are definitely keepers and I'm excited to add them to my shoe stash!

Did you get these shoes?  What did you think?

So even though I love Anthropologie, I still shop at other stores as well.  I happen to still love browsing Forever 21 for good finds every now and again.  While a lot of their clothes are not my taste, sometimes you can find a diamond in the rough:

What I Wore
Ruched Chevron Stripes Top-Forever 21
AG Stevie Ankle Denim (Sulfur Plum)-Anthropologie
Anticipation Heels-Anthropologie
Drawing Room Necklace (Spring 2012)-Anthropologie
Bracelets-J Crew Factory (aqua) and Gap Outlet (gold bangles)
Earrings-Banana Republic
Ring-Forever 21

I picked this Chevron Stripes top up for a whopping $15 and change a few months back and love it!  It's perfect to throw on with a pair of colored jeans and statement necklace (we all know I love my statement necklaces).

Here are a few more Forever 21 items that have caught my eye lately:

This is such a pretty summer color and would be gorgeous with a cardigan and pair of espadrille sandals.  This dress is under $30!

SO pretty!  I love this orange color and for some strange reason, I still cannot pass up a tiered tank!

For under $10 this is such a great deal.  I have a greenish-turquoise necklace just like this from another retailer and love the way it looks on.

This looks like it could have come from Anthropologie...loving the scalloped detailing on the edges.  It's a total bargain at $6.80!

Forever 21 always has some hidden gems...you just have to go looking!

Hope your weekend gets off to a great start!

Enjoy your day!

My Obsession with Statement Necklaces...and an OOTD

There are a few things I would say I obsess a little over more than the average person.  I have an obsession with shoes (don't judge, you know you do to), I have an obsession with Jamba Juice (I literally have to ween myself off in the next two months because there isn't one where we're moving), I have a slight obsession with working out (in a healthy way, I promise) and I have an obsession with big, bold statement necklaces...mostly of the Anthropologie breed.  I don't know what it is about Anthro and their chunky necklaces as of late, but I seriously cannot get enough!   Case in point:

Simply amazing.  The color is divine, the shape of the beads is fun and the ability to change the length of the necklace is great.  Total must have!

The minute I saw this necklace in person I knew it would be coming home with me, no question.  It is so pretty and perfect for spring/summer. I've worn it a few times already and have no regrets paying full price for this beauty, whatsoever.

This gorgeous necklace has actually been around for quite sometime but it's been only recently that I decided I NEED it in my collection.  It goes with a ton of things in my closet!

I love the casualness of this cute necklace, but it's just special enough to be able to be thrown on with a blouse and pencil skirt as well.  Perfect!

This is Anthro's latest amazing statement necklace that will be finding it's way to my collection.  It is stunning online and I can't wait to see it in person.  Yes, please!   I really do feel like I'm looking at a bowl of Neapolitan ice cream with some yellow and blue sprinkles on top.  YUM!!  How can one pass up such an delicious concoction?

***Small disclaimer--In reality I of course don't NEED any of these beautiful pieces...but it's fun to proclaim to NEED and MUST HAVE them anyway! =)

So what are your obsessions?  Are you an Anthro statement necklace hoarder like me?  I can run with the best of them, I tell ya!  I may hoard statement necklaces but I do actually wear them too!  You should know that the word "hoard" and me have never been used in the same sentence before.  I'm actually the anti-hoarder.  I throw everything away.  Ask my husband.  It drives him crazy.  But not statement necklaces.  Nope, the more the merrier I say! =)

While I love a chunky statement necklace, I actually do wear delicate pieces around my neck sometimes as well, believe it or not.  Here's proof...I bring you my outfit from Monday:

What I Wore
Salix Petal Blouse-Anthropologie
Cardigan-Loft
Always Skinny Jeans-Gap
Land & Lake Heels-Anthropologie
Necklace-J Crew Factory
Earrings-Francesca's Collections
Ring-Forever 21

We were having a cold weather day so out came the long-sleeved cardigan once again.

One last thing...I wanted to share with you my new lipstick color I'm wearing right now...it's perfect for spring:

It is the perfect formula of lipstick because it's shiny when it goes on, making it look like a lip gloss, but without the sticky mess!  I love the way lip gloss looks but can't stand my hair getting stuck to my lips every other minute so this is the perfect solution.  The color is a light pink that goes on looking a shade or two pinker than my lips, but still pretty neutral which is perfect for a spring or summer day.  Love!  Just thought I'd share.

Happy half-way through the week!  May Friday come fast!!! =)

Sunday Skirt

Sundays in our house is "church day" as my boys refer to it.  We opt not to play the loud, obnoxious video games to keep the noise and hyper-activity level down (this is my favorite Sunday tradition), we go to church, we come home and spend time together as a family...Sundays are good days.  Sunday is also the magic day of the week I will always need a skirt or dress.  We dress up for church. It's funny because I don't think I would have a single need for a pencil skirt if we didn't go to church every Sunday.  My day job certainly doesn't require them and I'd look a little corporate at after-school pick-up wearing one, so thank you to Sunday for allowing me a reason to wear pencil skirts (and to buy them)!

This week I wore a pencil skirt I was able to score for a great deal a while back.  I love the skirt but the color has stumped me a bit.  I don't wear a lot of olive green.  I've thought about returning this skirt on several occasions but could never go through with it because I just really liked the style and fabric.  This week I picked up this pretty little thing that happened to match the skirt perfectly:

And then this look was born:

What I Wore:
Watercolor Floral Cardigan-J Crew Factory
Sidebent Tank-Anthropologie
Foundational Pencil Skirt-Anthropologie
Skinny Gold Belt-J Crew Factory
Stacked Strap Heels-Anthropologie
Small Open Circle Necklace-Shabby Apple
Beachcombing Bracelet-Anthropologie
Earrings-Fossil
Ring-Forever 21

First day curling my shorter do was a little challenging...I definitely lost some length with that cut.  I'm liking it though!

I wanted to say thank you to all those who took the time to check out my blog sale...thanks!  I was able to sell about half of what I listed with the rest of the items still available for purchase.  Check it out HERE.

Hope you have a great day!

Chop it Off!

So I did it...just chopped off a few inches of my hair and it feels great!  Here's the new spring/summer do:

Whether or not it looks all cute and styled like this tomorrow when I don't have my amazing hair girl to it for me remains to be seen. =)

Also wanted to let you know I'll be holding a blog sale here starting tomorrow.  If I'm totally on top of it, I'll have it up by tonight, but you know how it goes...we'll see if that happens.  I have lots of J Crew items, a few Anthropologie, a few Loft, a few Down East, etc...it'll be kind of all over the board.  With my upcoming move I'm trying to clean things out so check back tomorrow (or maybe tonight...you never know) to take a gander!

Have a happy Saturday!

To cut or not to cut...that is the question...and an OOTD!

Happy Friday to you!  Anyone else happy the weekend is here?  We don't have any big plans for the next few days but I'm just excited to have a few days off from the daily routine.  I do have a hair appointment scheduled for Saturday morning...time to get my roots touched up!  I keep going back and forth about if I want to take a few inches off my hair or not...I can't decide.  I have been trying to grow my hair out for almost 2 years now and it just won't grow any longer than it is right now...it's at a stand still and has been for months!  It's getting on my nerves and I just want it to look different so cutting it would be the way to do it at this point.  Knowing we are moving to hot and humid weather this summer makes me want to chop it all off (not really all of it...just a few inches)...my hair falls so flat in humidity.  I'm going to have to re-train my hair to do what I want it to I fear.  Anyways, what do you think?  Cut a few inches off so it's a true shoulder length cut or be patient?  Chime in!

I thought I'd share an outfit with you I wore last week...it was a cold, dreary day so I broke out the boots:

What I Wore:
Artist's Study Cardigan-Anthropologie
Sidebent Tank-Anthropologie
Skinny Jeans-Loft
Miz Mooz "Siri" Knee-High Boots-Endless
Costa Collection Necklace-Anthropologie
Bracelet-Twisted Silver
Earrings-Francesca's Collections
Ring-Forever 21

I love this fun colorful cardigan...it can be mixed and matched with a variety of colors!

Alrighty...hope you have a great start to the weekend...enjoy your day!

What I wear to work out...and my weekly routine

I've been on the hunt for cute workout clothes lately.  I desperately need to replace some of my clothes that I've had for a very long time (since college...way too long...I graduated in 2002).  I workout about three times a week (a variation of running, cycle, weights, Pilates, etc) and often show up at school in the morning dressed for the gym since I head there right after dropping off my kids.  Even though I'm dressed for the gym I like to try to look semi-put together and cute (as much as you can with hair pulled back and tennis shoes on). I have heard great things about lululemon and want to give them a try in the future, but I just never got around to going in and trying things on so I was hesitant to ever order anything online without knowing what size I'd be.  So I stuck to what I know works...Gap.  I really like their GapFit line and find that it almost always runs TTS for me.

I had my eye on a few things for a while and finally when a good promo hit the web I jumped on it and decided to order a few things.  Here's what I ended up getting:

GapFit Motion seamless racerback tank (in phosphorus, purple candy and bold blue)

These tanks are awesome because they are totally figure flattering and aren't too tight, but not baggy at all.  They also do NOT have a shelf bra, which is what I prefer.  I don't have need to the double reinforcement so it just bothers me to have a shelf bra inside a tank when I'm already wearing a sports bra underneath.  I loved the bright and bold color options and the material is light and breathable.  I took these in size small and the fit was perfect. Highly recommend!

I saw this jacket in the store and was immediately drawn to it because of the cute ruching detail on the sleeved.  It makes an otherwise plain jacket totally cute!  I took this in a size small as well and it fit like a glove.
GapFit gFast gathered capris

I already own a pair of gFast workout bottoms so I knew I'd need a size small in these as well.  They are so cute on and fit perfectly.  I love the ruching detail on these also..it just adds that something extra special as the coat did above.  Love!

I can't wait to hit the gym tomorrow morning in my new gear...it makes working out a little more fun when you feel cute in what you're wearing!  I've had a few people ask about my workout routine lately so I thought I'd just answer all at once here with a sample of my weekly schedule.  I've had to change things up lately as I've been battling a hip injury.  I've had to stop running for a bit to let it heal (it's not healing very fast...grrrr) so I've recently taken up cycling to take it's place.  I take spin classes at the gym that are killers!  It must be doing the trick though because I've been able to maintain the same weight as I do when I run.

Here's what my workout routine typically looks like these days:

Monday-
Spin (hour-long class), Abs and 15 min of weights

Tuesday-
Day off from gym--do abs at home

Wednesday-
Spin (hour-long class), Abs and 15 min of weights

Thursday-
Day off from gym--do abs at home

Friday-
Pilates (hour-long class) and Elliptical (25-30 min)

Saturday-
Depends on the day...some days we go for a hike, others I just do Abs at home.  If I miss a workout on Friday, I always make up for it on Saturday though.

Sunday-
Day off

I'm not a super over-achiever when it comes to working out, but I've learned that getting in 3 sessions of cardio a week is perfect for me.  That's always the main goal.

So what do you like to do to stay in shape?  Do you have a routine you stick to?  Do you prefer to work out alone or in classes?  Do you have any workout gear you LOVE that I should know about?  DO tell!

Hope you have a great day!

Remix your way to a new look.

One of the best ways to get the most out of the items in your closet is to remix.  I get dressed with the goal of wearing a "new" outfit many days...remixing my items in ways I haven't worn them before so it feels like I'm wearing something new.  Does it happen every single day?  No. But when it works out it's fun to walk out my front door feeling like I'm wearing something I never have before.  When I look for ways to remix, I look to mix new color combinations, add different jewelry, or even just change up the shoes.  Even the slightest change in accessories can give an outfit a whole new look and feel.  The possibilities are endless!

When I last wore this cardigan, I paired it with a red tank, dark blue denim and my Miz Mooz boots.  I loved how the colors looked together so I wanted to incorporate red again somehow.  This time around I decided to make red an accent color and throw in another main color to pair with the mustard yellow...turquoise!  I also changed up the pants from denim to grey cords to really give it a different look overall.  Here's how it turned out:

What I Wore:
Insouciant Tank-Anthropologie
Bookstore Cardi-Down East Basics
Always Skinny Cords-Gap
Miz Mooz "Siri" Knee-High Boots-Endless
Rock Candy Necklace-Anthropologie
Baroness Bliss Teardrop Earrings-Ruche
Ring-Target

Fast forward to this week...the weather is suppose to be in the 80's by Friday...woo hoo!  So excited for some sunshine after a dreary, rainy week last week.  I'm hoping it'll be here to stay!

Did you see the great sale at Anthro today? Holy cow, so many great things went down in price this morning!  I did my bit of damage like many...can't wait to get my order that includes THIS, THIS, and THESE along with a few other goodies.  Yay for sale days...crossing my fingers that's the last one for the month or my budget is gonna go BUST--if it hasn't already! =)  Did you get anything fun??

Have a great day!

OOTD: Stripes in all directons

Last weekend I went to a baby shower for one of the resident's wives.  She's having a girl...needless to say I have no idea where to start when shopping for a little girl.  I went into Baby Gap to look for a gift and left empty-handed...I was so overwhelmed with how many cute things there are to pick from!  I wanted one of each. =)  I wish they would have made some of those cute things in MY size!  It's seriously a good thing I didn't have any girls...we'd be broke.  I would go crazy!  Anyhow, I ended up giving her a cute little girl toy and the cutest rattle shaped like a giant diamond ring...every little girls needs a little bling in her life from day 1, right?!   I figured since they already had a boy, she'd now need some girl-themed toys in the house too.  Here's what I ended up wearing to the baby shower:

What I Wore:
West Indies Top-Down East Basics
Pull-Through Cardi-Anthropologie
Toothpick Ankle Denim-J Crew Factory
Marvilis Wedge Sandals-Steve Madden
Split Surface Belt-Anthropologie
Necklace-J Crew Factory
Dewdrop Earrings-Anthropologie
Bracelet-Twisted Silver
Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

I check Down East Basics' new arrivals every month because usually they have one or two items that I really like.  We do have a store here in my local area but it's about an hour away so I usually just order online.  The West Indies top I wore came in both red/white stripes and this navy/white stripe combination but I thought the navy/white would go with more in my closet.  The top itself is made of a nicer looking material and the waist line falls at the perfect spot to add a belt.  Love it!  I also loved that the stripes went in a few directions...makes it a little different than your average striped top.  This month I also found a cute top I just had to have:

It's on sale right now for just $20 and comes in a pretty yellow color as well.  I could not pass up this pretty lavender color...I have grand plans of styling it with the Highlighted Frequencies Cardigan in the future...just need it to go on sale now (that and a few other pieces of the puzzle):

Highlighted Frequencies Cardigan/Swept Aside Top/AG Stevies

Highlighted Frequencies Cardigan/Swept Aside Top/AG Stevies by jennifoundinmycloset featuring a button up cardigan

Just an update on the ASOS mint green jeans I ordered...they were way too big.  I was going off the size chart they provided when determining what size to get since I had never ordered from ASOS before but it was not correct for me.  Bummer.  I liked the color ok but wish they were just a tad shorter.  They go right to the bottom of my ankles which look fine, but I was hoping they'd be a tad shorter.  I'm wondering if a size down would be a little shorter...not sure.  I'll decide soon whether or not to re-order as they don't do exchanges, just returns.

One last thing...my friend Jamie recently started a new blog called "Diary of a Curvy Fashionista" .  She has such great style and the girl can accessorize...she's a stylist for Stella & Dot.  Do me a favor and go check her out!  She's having a contest to see how many new followers she can get so leave her a comment letting her know Jenni sent ya and start following!  You'll definitely want to add her to your blog roll too!

Hope you have a fabulous Sunday!

Anthropologie Fitting Room Reviews--Spring Break Edition (early April)

Hi there!  Now that the kids are back in school I have a little more free time so I was finally able to tackle the fitting room review photos I took last week when I went to Anthropologie in Corte Madera.  My girlfriend and I made a day of it and enjoyed a kid-free shopping trip complete with lunch at The Counter...YUM!  No "Counters" in Ohio...gotta get it while I can!

I tried on a variety of items this time around and had great luck finding lots of things to add to my ever-growing wish list.  I'll start off with the two things I ended bringing home with me:

I went into the store specifically wanting to find a few certain items to try on and this was one of them.  I fell in love with the cute polka dot pattern when I saw this top online, and in real life, it did not disappoint.  It was every bit as cute!  I tried this on in an X-Small and it fit perfectly.  The front is a bit shorter than the back but after staring at myself in the mirror for a good 5 minutes I decided it was long enough.  If I really wanted to, I could slip a white tank or cami underneath for a little extra length and I think it would still look really cute, but I think it's fine without it too.  I could have sized up to a small for a bit more length, but it would have been way too boxy and baggy on me.  The X-Small was the only way to go for me.  This top also comes in a few solid colors.  I loved the coral color and would love to grab it when it hits sale.  The material of this top is light and airy, and probably a little susceptible to wrinkling, but I love it nonetheless. It was a no-brainer.  To the cashier it went and in my closet it now hangs.

When I first saw this necklace pop up online I knew I would be purchasing it.  I love the colors!  There's just something about a chunky necklace from Anthropologie that I cannot seem to resist lately!   I tried this on with a few different colors and found it to be so flattering up against many of them, making this necklace super versatile.  It can dress up an outfit or be worn casually as well.  Perfect in every way.  Love at first sight, and happy to have it in my collection.

The mix of colors in this tank are what drew me to it online.  I love the outfit possibilities with all those colors!  I had heard from a few people that the tank ran a bit big and dipped kind of low in the front so I had prepared myself to find the same outcome in the fitting room...and they were all correct.  Too big and too low-cut, even in the X-Small I tried on.  The tank itself is super boxy.  It is also very low cut on this "not-so-blessed up there" girl.  I would be pulling it up constantly to fix that.  It wouldn't be a matter of "if" it would dip too low during the day, it would be a matter of how many times.  The final nail in the coffin was the material this top was made of...it's awful!  There's two layers...the top layer is a sheer, mesh-like material that has the pattern on it and it lays over a beige solid cheapie-feeling under layer.  The whole thing screamed Forever 21 but was certainly not priced as such.  Even if this top worked for me, I would never pay $70 for it.  It's literally a $20 top.  Very disappointing Anthro...big time miss.  Back to the rack.

Trying to get over the loss of the previous tank...we move onto the Urubamba Tank that looks surprisingly a lot like the Visual Language Tank!   I tried this on in both an X-Small and a Small and the X-Small was the one I settled on.  The Small was a bit longer which I liked, but the arm holes dipped so low that it was almost humorous.  The X-Small fit well all throughout the tank, but I wish it had been just an inch longer.  It's certainly not a deal breaker, just personal preference.  I loved the pretty colors and the neckline detailing...it really gives it a little something extra special.  This top is wish listed for sale...high on my wish list!

I tried the Urubamba Tank on with a cardigan that was hanging next to it on the rack, the Premium Sheen Cardigan.  This cardigan, in a word, is divine.  It is simply gorgeous and so perfect for the upcoming seasons.  It has gold metallic flecks in the striping and looks and feels so light and airy on.  It ran TTS so I took an X-Small.  I usually take X-Smalls in open cardigans because they have more fabric than your normal crew neck or V-neck cardigan.  I literally wanted to walk out the door wearing this cardigan, but restraint kicked in and I vowed to try to hold out until sale.  Highly recommend!

Micro-Striped Cardigan (yellow motif)-$78 and Urubamba Tank (yellow motif)-$78

I tried on this cardigan by Splendid because I happen to love my other Splendid cardigan I got a few years back on sale at Anthro.   This cardigan was the very same fabric as the one i already own, and was just as comfortable and soft, but the draping on this one wasn't as flattering as I had hoped it would be.  It fell short, literally.  I felt like the draping needed to be a little longer in the front instead of ending where it did, a little on the short side.  It wasn't super flattering on me and I honestly wasn't wowed by the color on me either.  I felt a little washed out by it.  Pass.

I paired the cardigan with the yellow motif of the Urubamba tank.  Since I had loved the red motif I thought maybe the yellow motif would be a home run as well, but I just didn't like it as much.  I wasn't crazy about the color combination against my fair skin and I just preferred the red motif much more.

I have been wanting to try this top on for a while now and was happy to see the purple motif hanging in my store (it's been sold out online since like a week after it debuted).  I grabbed an X-Small and Small in both colors and in the end decided the Small was the better fit.  The X-Small was a little too fitted through the ribs and waist...just not quite as flattering.  I really loved both colors, but I think I would go for the purple if I could find it by the time is hits sale.  I envision this being so cute with my Peppering Skirt and Poetic License purple and blue heels.   The one thing I don't love about this top is that the material is a little stiff.  It doesn't flow as easily as I would hope and because of that, fits a little odd in the bust area.  It even pulls a bit when clearly, there is no reason there should be any pulling action going on.  Again, not super blessed on my top half.  It's not a deal breaker for me though, and I would love to score this on sale.  Hoping there are some purples still around by then!

When I saw this top online I thought it was just ok.  Then I saw it in the store and really loved the cobalt blue color mixed with the white.  Then I tried it on...love!  I tried this on in an X-Small and it fit great.  This top fits my criteria of not needing a tank underneath (the less layers in the summer, the better) and it was plenty long...double score!  I am anxious to add this to my closet as I see it being a great go-to top for all these hot, humid Ohio summers I'll be facing in the years to come.  Wish listed!

I tried this top on with the intent of it being a possible tunic to wear with jeans.  It's too short on me to pass off as a dress.  However, it was definitely more of a dress than a tunic it turned out!  At least in the back.  The back went down to the middle of my knees, but the front, of course, was much shorter.  Too long to be a tunic, but too short to be a dress for me.  Just for reference, I tried this on in an X-Small.  I did totally love the cobalt blue color (I had a thing for cobalt blue that day apparently) and I love the gorgeous print, but if I end up purchasing this, it will need to be altered to look more like a tunic.  Probably a pass unless I find it on second cut somewhere in the future.  It's too bad though, it's so super cute!  My girlfriend looked totally cute in it...of course she's 3-4 inches taller than me so it fit like an actual tunic on her.

I took this into the dressing room thinking that it would be a go-back but I figured I might as well give it a try.  My initial instinct was correct...it was an awful piece on me.  The one thing I did love about it was the beautiful raspberry color...totally screams spring and summer!  Everything else was awful though.  It was too long, too short in the sleeves, too high in the neck, too see-through, the weave of the knit was too loose...just too many issues.  Just for reference, I tried this on in a size X-Small and had I liked it, that would have been the right size.  Back to the rack it went.

Diamond Kite Dress-$168

What a cute dress this is!  I love the colors and the print, and to top it off, it fell all the way down to my knees...it's so hard to find dresses that have all three of those things in common! It's listed as being 38.5" long but I would guess it's more like 40" to be honest with how long it was on me.  I tried this on in a size 2 and would stick with that.  I'd say it fits TTS.  I could honestly have possibly sized down to a 0 since it was pull-on styling, but I wouldn't want to lose the length.  I would style this dress with a cardigan and a belt on top, and sandals or pumps on my feet.  There really are a lot of possibilities.  My friend tried this on with a yellow cardigan in the dressing room and it looked so cute!  This dress looks so much better with a belt on, so I threw on a random belt the SA gave me to use.  This particular belt is not my favorite with the dress, but with one that matches better, it would be so perfect.  Totally digging this dress and would love to add it to my closet.  Wish listed!

I have been wanting to try this top on for months now, so I was happy to see it still hanging in the store.  Since it's arrival on the website they have released at least one more color, perhaps more.  This gorgeous turquoise is so fun and perfect for this time of year.  It's also very versatile.  I took an X-Small in this top, and would NO WAY be able to take anything bigger.  This top runs big, so size down.  I could go without wearing anything underneath it because the neck doesn't dip too low, and it's not see-through, but honestly, I would probably want to wear a cami or tank anyways just to be on the safe side.  It is pretty long so it's a tunic-type look on me, but I think it's really comfy and cute, and could see myself loving it.  Wish listed!

There's only one word for this cute top...LOVE!  I cannot get over how Deletta continually puts out amazing layering pieces...they are so good!  This tank is a must-have in my closet in a few colors, I fear.  I tried on both the pink and yellow motifs and want them both.  And the turquoise too.  Oh boy. I tried these on in both X-Smalls and Smalls and the X-Small was a perfect fit.  The neckline is perfection (not too low) and the way the top hangs at the bottom is just the way I like...not too flowy, but not too clingy.  Don't be shocked if you end up seeing this top in some future OOTD's.  Wish listed in several colors!

Boreal Blear Tee-$78

I was attracted to this top simply because the design on it was so striking.  I love the mix of colors.  Once on, however, it was clear it wasn't going to work for me.  I tried on the X-Small and it was HUGE!  It swallowed me up.  It doesn't look as bad in the pictures actually, just a bit baggy, but in real life, it was a train wreck.  Sized out on this one.   I will say although it was cute, it's no way $78 cute. Wait for sale and size down on this one.

Tried & True Top (white motif)-$88

This top has alluded me for months....every time I go to try it on at a store it's nowhere to be found.  Finally, I was able to get my hands on one and give it a go!  Verdict is: love it!  Just not in white.  I tried this on in an X-Small and it was a perfect fit.  I love the longer length on this top and think it's such a great summer piece to have on hand (again, no layering required...must have for humid Ohio summers).  The material is soft, lightweight, and totally comfortable.  I tried this on in the white motif because it was the only color left in an X-Small at my store, and I must say this particular motif WOULD require layering.  It's SUPER see-through and I felt so exposed.  I would steer-clear of it in favor of the darker colors to avoid the see-through problem.  I am waiting for the red and green motifs to hit sale (HOPEFULLY SOON) so I can add them to my closet.  The green is SO much more bold and vibrant in real life than it is online (it's actually now sold out).  It's really cute.  Wish listed!

Puzzled Pieces Dress-$178

When my friend and I walked up to the store we saw this dress styled in the window.  I immediately fell in love with the colors...it was just so pretty!  I tried this dress on in a size 2 and it was a good fit.  That was about all that went well with this dress for me.   First. the neckline really bugged me.  It's so high that you can't really do much in way of a necklace since there's a bow there.  It limits styling options.  Second, the dress came down to just above my knees, which is shorter than I like.  It did have a lot of hem that could possibly be let out, or a slip could be worn with it to get some more length.  Easy fix.  That however, isn't enough to make up for the neckline.  Overall the print is amazing, and the idea of it is cute, but the negatives outweigh the positives for me, so it's a pass for now.

Trifecta Cardigan (green motif)-$88

I was hoping to find this cardigan in the yellow motif to try on but they didn't have any in my size so I went with the next best thing...green!  I  liked this cute cardigan and think it's a fun layering piece.  I'm wearing a size X-Small here and it was a good fit.  It's obviously not going to keep you very warm and is simply for looks but it's a cute piece to have on hand.  I do sort of wish it was a shorter length...I think it could have been cute a little more cropped.  All in all it's not a must-have for me, but if I were to find it in yellow on sale somewhere I wouldn't look away! =)

Incandescent Traces Dress-$148

I grabbed this dress simply because it looked like it would go to my knees.  Outside of that, I wasn't holding out much hope that I would love it.  I was right...not impressed.  They list this dress as being "yellow" when clearly it has green undertones and looks nothing like a bright sunny yellow.  Once on, I really couldn't find a thing I liked about this dress.  I tried on a size 2 and it fit fine, but that was the only good thing about it.  In fact, I try not to use the word hate, but this dress would fall into that category if I did.  The dress is not lined and the fabric is the most clingy, static-y fabric you will ever find in your life.  It was just awful.  I couldn't wait to get it off.  MAJOR PASS.

Ochre Intervals Cardigan-$128

When I saw this cardigan online I really liked the mix of colors and was excited to see it in real life.  When i found it hanging on the rack I could not believe my eyes...it looked HUGE!  I decided to grab it anyways and give it a try.  I tried it on in an X-Small and wish it would have come in a smaller size.  I think I may be sized out in this one.   It looks super sloppy just hanging on me, and when I lift my arms, it swallows me whole.  The colors, however, are amazing and I love the boldness of it.   Gonna have to pass on this one due to sizing issues.  Size down on this one, for sure!

Bedecked Flounce Tee (blue motif)-$58

I tried this tee on in the grey motif last time I went to Anthro and really liked it so I thought I'd give the blue motif a try as well.  I love me some polka dots so why not?  I tried this top on in an X-Small and like the grey motif, it was a good fit.  I love the design of this top...how the print peaks out from the sides and onto the back...so different!  After trying on both I'm not totally sure which motif I prefer...I'll have to figure that out.  For now, both this one and the grey motifs are wish listed for sale!

Painted Ume Tunic-$128

I thought this tunic was so pretty when I walked by it in the store.  I loved all the pastel colors.   I tried this tunic on in a size 0 and the fit was decent...if I was looking for a maternity top or a house dress.  It was really quite baggy and flowey.  The top is generous in the sleeves, and because it's also so long (being a tunic and all) I felt like I was wearing a Muumuu or something.   It just wasn't flattering on me at all.  In the top's defense, the product shot online makes it look really good...the model wears it well on the beach. I'm convinced it was pulled back and pinned though...you don't see how much fabric is really there.  Perhaps if I lived in Hawaii, or was in the middle of a pregnancy this would work great, but for me right now, this is a huge PASS.

So what do you think?  See anything you're dying to have hanging on your closet?  Have you already purchased any of these items?  Chime in!

Hope those helped!

Have a great day!
