Weekend Wear

This weekend was a fun one...I hate to see it end! Tomorrow will be a bit of an extension of the weekend though, with the Halloween celebrations all around. The weather is looking to be cooler this coming week too so it looks like it might be time to pull out the fall clothes for good! Speaking of fall clothes, I have TONS of fitting room reviews to share with you from my little trip to Anthropologie on Saturday night but those will have to wait...I need to go through and do some editing. I found tons of new fun items I loved, including a dress that will be perfect for my husband's work Christmas party this year...stay tuned!

On Friday I dressed warm since I knew we'd be outside in the cooler evening for our ward Trunk-or-Treat at church. The kids had a great time and scored WAY too much candy. Let's just say I've enjoyed my fair share of sugar this weekend too! Here's what I wore on Friday:

-Bookstore Cardi-Down East Basics
-Ruffle Front Tank-Ann Taylor Factory
-Ultimate Skinny Jeans-Banana Republic
-Miz Mooz "Siri" Boots-Endless
-Papaya Pebbles Necklace-Anthropologie
-Earrings-J Crew Factory
-Ring-Target

So if you read my last post you know I'm starting to look into the possibility of investing in a pair of ankle booties. I've searched and searched and think I've narrowed it down to a handful. My top two as of now are these:

Favorite Booties so far...

I haven't tried either on yet so I'm not exactly sure what they would look like on, but I like what I see online. Any input on these would be great! What do you think? If anyone owns either of these I'd love to hear what you have to say about them!

Well, I'm off to bed to prepare for a long day tomorrow...gonna be a busy day! Hope you have a fabulous Halloween!

Friday Fun

Hi all! Happy Friday! I'm so happy the weekend is here! We'll be starting the Halloween partying a little early tonight as we'll be going to our church's Harvest Festival and Trunk-or-Treat. My kids can hardly contain their excitement! It's so fun to see them get excited about the holidays...I get that same twinge of excitement still too, even at 31 years old. There's just something about the fall holidays that just never seems to get old.

So yesterday I busted out one of my sale purchases from last week...my new Sulfur Plum AG Stevies. To say these are colorful is an understatement, but that's why I love them! Because I didn't think they were colorful enough on their own I decided to pair them with some yellow shoes. Just in case someone didn't see me coming with the purple pants, alone. =)

Here's the set with items listed:

Purple and grey

And in real life:

These jeans are super comfortable, I have to say. They are very similar in fit and comfort to my Pilcro colored denim, so I'm not sure why the prices are so vastly different. Thankfully I scored mine at 40% off so it was a good deal, for AG's anyways.

So in my inbox this morning I had an email waiting for me from Piperlime with my $25 off a $75 purchase discount code. Apparently if you made a purchase last month for a certain amount you were offered this special deal this month. I ended up getting it because I purchased my Hunter rain boots through Piperlime. I also have some more rewards cards coming to me from the Gap Inc company so between those and this fun discount I just may be able to score a great deal on something! I have been looking into the possibility of adding some sort of ankle length bootie (maybe a little taller) to my closet but just haven't taken the plunge yet since it was still so warm out and there wasn't any need for them quite yet. Now that the weather is dipping into the 40's in the morning I'm thinking fall and winter may actually be on their way so I think now would be a great time to look into it. I started looking around Piperlime and picked out a few possible options...

Daphnea by Boutique 9

Kadeer by BCBGeneration

Nomads by Nine West

Selma 03 by Gomax

They are all a bit out of the box for me but kinda fun! I think they'd be great paired with any type of jeans..perfect for cold weather. Do you like any of these or are they a bit much for you? What do you think?

Hope you all have a great weekend! I plan on it!

Wacky Wednesday

We're half-way through the week and I'm looking forward to the weekend already! After spending 7 out of the last 12 months of living away from home for work, hubby is coming home for good on Friday and I couldn't be more thrilled! It's been a long haul but little by little we're starting to see a little more light at the end of this residency tunnel we've been in the last 3 years and 4 months. This fourth and final year is moving right along!

Today was "Wacky Wednesday" when the kids get out of school early so we took advantage and got together with friends for lunch and a trip to the local pumpkin patch. The weather was quite nice out by the afternoon, however the mornings are starting to get pretty chilly. It makes getting dressed for the day a little tricky since it's much warmer by the afternoon. Here's what I went with today:

-Sidebent Tank-Anthropologie
-Borrowed Boyfriend Cardi-Anthropologie
-Jeggings-American Eagle (these are SOOOO comfy!)
-Miz Mooz "Siri" Knee-high boots-Endless
-Acoma Earrings-Anthropologie
-Small Open Circle Necklace-Shabby Apple
-Bracelet-Twisted Silver
-Ring-Ruche

I'm off to get ready for bed because it's gonna be an early morning tomorrow...I'm working at the school in the boys' classes. I thought I'd leave you with just a few of the pages from the new November Anthro catalog that are floating around that I'm loving right now. There are so many more fabulous looks, but I figured I'd just pick three for now:

GORGEOUS! One of each, please! =)

Have a great day!

Sale day and a date night OOTD!

Good morning ladies! Happy sale day! Another round of markdowns this morning at Anthro makes me a happy camper! I picked up a few items I've been lusting after for while now...the Liquid Acres Skirt, the Tokonoma top and the Paradise Ascending Top. There's a few more items I'd love to pick up but I may hold off till second cuts...we'll see. I always hate the wait, but getting a item you really want (that you don't think will sell out) for a better price always feels more rewarding to me in the end. But again, really, I hate the wait!!! I'll be heading to Anthro this weekend with friends so we'll see what I find. Did you pick anything up this morning off your wish list??

This past weekend hubby and I were able to squeeze in a date night and meet up with some friends for dinner in Napa. I always love a good reason to get dressed up! I pulled out my new Cabomba Blouse I scored on sale a few weeks ago and paired it with some fierce heels for the occasion....and away we went!

The set:

Date Night in Napa

And in real life:

-Cabomba Blouse-Anthropologie
-Cap Sleeve Tee-Down East Basics
-Always Skinny Jeans-Gap
-Weave & Plait Belt-Anthropologie
-Vince Camuto "Miki Pump"-Nordstrom (Fall 2010)
-Double Torsade Necklace-Anthropologie
-Bardot Spiral Bracelet-Stella & Dot
-Strung Hoops-Anthropologie
-Ring-Forever 21
-Bag-Ruche

I snapped this picture around 9:30pm in the mirror at Gott's where we all stopped for milkshakes after dinner, so it's not the best lighting, but you get the idea! I love this top...so colorful and fun!

So has anyone else seen previews of the November Anthro releases/catalog? Images are starting to float around and I have to say, I like what I see! I am particularly obsessed with these:

Tegu Platforms

Oh, be still my heart! I know what Santa is bringing me this year! These will be mine. =)

I'm off to get my day going. Lots to do today...I've been on an organizing binge the past few days. It feels great to get rid of stuff we no longer need or want to move next summer. Little by little I plan to go through the whole house so I'm not faced with such a huge job come July. It's so much work!

Hope you all have a great day!

Two Saturdays ago...

So blogging hasn't exactly been at the top of my priority list lately...which is ok. Life gets a little crazy sometimes and the great thing about fashion blogging is that it's just for fun...when I do it, it's because I have the time for that extra fun in my life. When I don't, it just means I'm way too tired to stare at a computer screen and edit photos! =) I was looking through photos I had already edited from the past few weeks and found an outfit picture from two Saturdays ago I forgot I had taken. We went on a little getaway that weekend so the picture was taken in a hotel room mirror...not the best lighting, but you get the idea:

-Top-Banana Republic Outlet (Fall 2011)
-"Set the Course Cardigan"-Anthropologie
-Always Skinny Jeans-Gap
-Anticipation Heels-Anthropologie
-Lucky Brand Necklace-Macy's
-Bardot Spiral Bangle-Stella & Dot
-Ring-Pree Brulee

I picked this top up a few months back on super sale. It reminded me of something Anthropologie would offer...for such a great deal I snapped it right up!

It's Friday! Any fun plan for the weekend? Hubby is coming home tonight after being away for almost a month so it'll be nice to have him back in the house for a few days. My two older boys are going to a Halloween costume party tomorrow afternoon, and then hubby and I are going out tomorrow night with all the other residents and their spouses to dinner in Napa...date night! What to wear?

How about that sale at Anthro this week? Definitely some fun surprises! The one thing I wasn't so fond of was the fact that none of the west coast stores were offering an extra 40% off their sale items like many of the east coast/mid-west stores were...seems a little unfair. I decided to give a few east coast stores a call and see if they would give me the 40% off on the sale items I was looking for on a charge send, and believe it or not, no one even blinked an eye! They were all happy to honor the discount on charge sends, which I had heard they would not doing. Obviously that wasn't the case! I was able to re-buy a few things that were sitting in my closet with tags still on, and added a few more things as well with the money I got back. Win-win!

Anthro 40% off Sale items

I scored the moss green Pilcro Stet Slim denim, the AG Stevie Ankle Denim in Sulfur Plum, the Sidebent Tank in navy and the Frilled Echelons Peacoat in Turquoise all for $40% off their sale prices! Super excited to get them all and start wearing them the second the weather cools off again (hello 80 degrees again). What did you get? DO tell! Do you happen to be one of the lucky ducks that lives near a store offering the 40% discount off sale items?

I'll be back next week with a few outfits I snapped in the past few days, as well as my date night outfit from tomorrow. I'm also excited to head back to Anthro in about a week to do returns, etc and do some more fitting room reviews. I actually still have some reviews to share from my last trip so perhaps I'll throw those up this weekend if I get a chance. Catch-up time!

Enjoy your day!

Polka Dots, Scallops and Bright Colors, oh my!

Happy Monday all! I'm dragging a little this morning...opted to sleep in rather than get up for my early morning run. Now I'm off to the gym to make up for it. I'm not a fan of the gym treadmills but today they will have to do! Before I go I thought I'd share what I wore to church yesterday. I was quite colorful, to say the least.

-Polka-dot tank-Forever 21 (Spring 2011)
-Whirl & Wind Cardigan-Anthropologie (Summer 2010)
-Pizarro Skirt-Shabby Apple
-Enzo Angiolini "Sully" Platform Pump-Nordstrom (Summer 2011 Anniversary sale purchase)
-Weave & Plait Belt-Anthropologie
-Necklace-Nordstrom
-Dewdrop Earrings-Anthropologie (still available in clear)
-Bracelet-Twisted Silver
-Ring-Forever 21

Although I was channeling Rainbow Brite just a bit I know when to draw the line. Had to go with some neutral shoes to balance it all out. I can't help but love bright colors, year round...they're too fun to pass up!

So are you hoping to see anything go on sale tonight at Anthro, if there is a sale at all? I have been waiting for what seems like forever for the Stacked Strap Heels to hit sale so I'm crossing my fingers for those, along with a few other things. I still have a gift card from my birthday burning a hole in my pocket that's dying to be spent, so give me good reason Anthro!!

Alright, I've put it off long enough...off to the gym I go. Hope you have a great day!

Pattern Mixing Experiment

Hi there! Long time no blog! Hope everyone is having a good week so far. It's a busy week for me so I'm moving like the Energizer Bunny...I just keep going and going and going. Come Friday night (as soon as our church's craft night that I'm in charge of is over)I'm gonna need a really good night's sleep!

I wanted to share an outfit with you that I wore last Friday. I created this look in Polyvore a while back and have been very excited to wear it ever since. It's a bit farther outside the pattern mixing box than I'm used to but I really liked it!

-Expanding Universe Tank-Anthropologie
-Artist's Study Cardigan-Anthropologie
-Always Skinny Jeans-Gap (petite length)
-Anticipation Heels-Anthropologie
-Lucky Brand Necklace-Macy's
-Earrings-Nordstrom (BP)
-Ring-Pree Brulee

Do you like to pattern mix? Do you do it often? I like to mix more subtle patterns usually but I felt like going a little crazy with this look. Go bold or go home, right?!

We're taking advantage of a short school day tomorrow and heading up to visit my parents and then making the trek up to Apple Hill to pick out pumpkins! I used to go there as a kid to get pumpkins for Halloween so it's fun to be able to take my kids there now to experience that same tradition. I'm also looking forward to indulging in a favorite fall treat of mine...apple donuts! YUM! Can't wait.

Hope you have a great day!

Layers

I found myself wearing lots of layers today. It was fun to pile them all on! This excitement I have for cool weather will fade soon, I assure you, and I'll be wishing for warm weather again before you know it. I'm so fickle. Anyhow, today I busted out my new "Roundabout Cardi" and LOVED it! It's super comfy and flowy...I can definitely see this being a well-worn piece this fall and winter.

-Ruffle-front Tank-Loft
-Roundabout Cardi-Down East Basics
-Jeggings-American Eagle
-Belt-Forever 21
-Miz Mooz "Siri" Knee-high boots-Endless
-Necklace-Forever 21
-Acoma Earrings-Anthropologie
-Ring-Pree Brulee

These Miz Mooz "Siri" boots are the best purchase ever, by the way. They are the perfect fit for someone with chicken legs like me, as the shaft is on the narrower side. The material is soft and buttery, the details are great and they are SOOO comfortable. Highly recommend these! Just an FYI--I normally wear an 8.5 in 9 in shoes and I took these in my normal Miz Mooz size--8.5.

One more thing I got to layer on for the first time today was my new Pansy Corset Trench Coat that my hubby got me for my birthday last month. I adore it!!

Since the rain has started up I decided to go searching online for some rain boots tonight. I actually bought a pair last year but they were from Gap Outlet and boy, you can tell I only paid about $30. They are destroyed...totally weathered after just one season. Sad. =( It just proved to me that I should have gone with my gut last year and picked up the boots I really wanted....a pair of Hunters! So, armed with a coupon code from Piperlime and a handy rewards card, I was able to pick up my beloved Hunters for a great price.

How cute will these be with my Pansy Corset Trench?!!

Rainy Day Gear

All I need is a cute yellow polka dot umbrella now and I'm ready to face the rain!

We have fun plans to skip town for the weekend and enjoy some much needed family time. I'm looking forward to it...hopefully it won't go by too fast!

Enjoy your weekend...see ya next week!

Falling for Fall

Fall is in the air! I've pulled out long sleeved cardigans, boots and even a coat so far this week. Son #2 even requested hot chocolate this afternoon to warm up. That being said, Mr Weatherman said it's suppose to be back in the 80's for just a few days next week. Seriously? As long as it's just a few days it's ok I suppose. Here's what I wore today to stay warm:

-Garden Rows Top-Anthropologie
-Merino Chiffon Placket Cardigan-J Crew
-Jeggings-American Eagle
-Miz Mooz Lacey T-Strap Pumps
-Sea Drop Earrings-Anthropologie
-Small Open Circle Necklace-Shabby Apple
-Ring-Pree Brulee

Tricia tagged me today with a fun little Q & A so I thought I'd play along:

1. Favorite color?
My favorite color is either pink or red. I love them both!

2. Favorite animal?
None...I'm not an animal person at all. I promised my boys after we move next summer we will get a fish and I'm already regretting that statement!

3. Favorite number?
My favorite number is probably 3 or 7...3 because I have 3 kids and 7 because if I was ever on a sports team when I was a kid I wanted to be #7. I was never on a sports team though...I went the dancing/cheerleading route.

4. Favorite alcoholic/non-alcoholic drink?
I'm a Jamba Juice addict...like such an addict that the people at my local store know me by name and what I typically order. It's bad. At home, I love Crystal Light Raspberry Lemonade.

5. Facebook or Twitter?
Facebook, for sure. I have a twitter account but have never actually tweeted. In fact, I don't even remember my password to get on!

6. Your Passions?
I have a few passions...running is definitely one of them and has been for a while. I also really love shopping (duh), making girl time a priority (GNO's are the best), and of course spending time as a family. Love these boys of mine!

7. Your Wish list for this month?
Oh goodness, there are really too many things to list. Here's what I'm calling my "love list" right now, and trust me, there's many more things than just these that I'm loving at the moment. My list goes on and on and on....

Fall Love List

8. Favorite pattern?
I love polka dots!

9. Favorite day of the week?
Friday is my favorite day of the week right now. I love knowing that the next day is a day off. And if I have a date night planned with hubby or a GNO it's an added bonus!

10. Favorite flowers?
Gerber daisies are my favorites...I love brightly colored flowers!

The five people I tag (which you don't have to do it but it might be fun):

1. Kelly from "Fashion Fuel"
2. AppGal from "Musings on the Mountain"
3. Lisa from "Respect the Shoes"
4. Carolyn from "Dressed Up Mom"
5. M from "Shopping with M"

If anyone else wants to play along, feel free!

Hope you have a great day!

Lazy Weekend

This weekend was divine. I enjoyed every second of having no plans (except #2's end of the season soccer party on Saturday night). I am feeling a little rejuvenated finally so I'll be ready to face the world with a little more ease tomorrow morning I think. I'm actually welcoming Monday morning this week. Bring it on!

Had you come knocking on my door on Saturday you would have found me in my pajamas until around 3:30pm...seriously. And don't even ask about today. I wasn't kidding about the whole being lazy thing. When I finally decided to get ready for the soccer party I felt like being comfy so I went with this:

-Monthly Meet-up Pullover-Anthropologie
-Artist Crop Jeans-American Eagle
-Steve Madden "Cabezza" Sandal
-Watch-Fossil
-Necklace/ Earrings-Nordstrom (BP)
-Candy Rock Bracelet-Anthropologie
-Ring-Forever 21

I love this top so much...I waited for it to go on sale for forever last spring and snatched it up the second it did. It's super girlie with the ruching detail on the sleeve...love!

So the weather this week is finally making a change for good I think (dare I even say it???)...although I wasn't asking for rain! I just wanted some cooler temps! Rain is also on it's way too, however. My backyard will be thrilled..it needs a good watering. With the change of season it's also time to go through my boys' drawers and clean out what's gotten too small for them and see what they now need. I'm also feeling the urge to go through my things and do a little purging as well. I know there are things in there that I have held onto thinking I'd wear but still haven't. Time to say bye-bye.

While I'm out in the garage going through all the boys' clothes buckets I have I should pull out my fall decorations too. I am so excited for all the fall/winter holidays this year. My boys are already on my case about getting their Halloween costumes ordered. I have a policy that I don't order/purchase any costumes until Oct 1st so of course yesterday they were ready to start looking. They don't waste any time! This year my oldest wants to be "Hogwarts Harry Potter" and my middle guy wants to be Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. #3 will be happy with whatever I put him in...that's one perk of having a 2 year old I suppose! =)

I'm off to fold some laundry and watch "Pan-Am"....I really liked the first episode last Sunday so hopefully it'll continue to be a good Sunday night show. Hope your week gets off to a great start!
