Pulling from Polyvore

I've been playing tons on Polyvore lately with lots of new fall arrivals. Seeing as how it's still in the 90's this week here (STILL) I decided to go digging into the archives and find a set I created with summer clothes but hadn't worn yet. I pretty much changed everything except the two main pieces...the top and the skirt, but it helped get my outfit going!

Details:
-Alstroemeria Tee-Anthropologie
-BP Three-quarter sleeve cardigan-Nordstrom
-Skirt-Gap (2008)
-Weave & Plait Belt-Anthropologie
-Shoes-Journeys (2007)
-Lucky Necklace-Macy's
-Bracelet-Silpada Jewelry
-Earrings-Pac Sun
-Candy Bowl Ring-Banana Republic

And just for good measure, here's what I wore on Wednesday:

-Dress-Gap Outlet
-Cap Sleeve Tee-Shade Clothing
-Seychelles "Purr" Wedge Sandals
-Necklace-Loft Outlet
-Earrings-Stella & Dot
-Bracelet-Silpada Jewelry
-Sunburst Ring-Banana Republic

I'm sooo looking forward to the weekend. Tomorrow night I'm going out with a friend for pedicures and dinner....can't wait! The last pedicure I actually went and got was over 2 years ago...2 weeks before my youngest son was born. I'm thinking I'm well overdue. Then, on Saturday morning, I'll finally get to sleep in a little...yay! It's been 2 months since I last slept in past 8am (due to the soccer season) so I fully plan on embracing my new found freedom. How about you? Any big plans?

Hope you have a great day...enjoy!

Tuesday Shop Talk and a few OOTD's

Hi all! Hope the week got of to a good start for you! This morning's sale at Anthro was less than exciting in my book. Probably a good thing. The one surprising, fun thing was the new 30% promo on outerwear and boots they're now offering! It seems they're being picky about which outwear pieces they're allowing the promo to affect, but it looks like all the boots are included from what I can tell. I ended up re-buying the Pansy Corset Trench (I got the cute floral motif) with the new promo since I haven't touched the one I got for my birthday yet...this warm CA weather we've been having has prevented me from even thinking about wearing a coat yet this season! I was feeling so good about the unexpected money I got back from re-buying the Trench Coat that I when I looked in my email and saw a 20% off Friends and Family coupon from Endless this morning I decided it was ok to finally purchase THESE (in the mustard yellow color). I can't wait to wear them! They are so cute and super versatile! If there's one thing I just can't get enough of, it's shoes, clearly. We all have our "thing"!

So is it still hot where you live? It certainly is here. We can't escape summer this year it seems. Sunday was the first day we've seen dip into the lower temps in a long time. It even sprinkled a bit of rain! I broke out this dress that I've had a few years now and decided to pair it with my new Mary Janes. I've never been able to find shoes that went great with this dress but I think I've finally pinned some down!

-Dress-Down East Basics
-Navy "Jackie" Cardigan-J Crew Factory
-Miz Mooz Lacey T-Strap Pumps
-Necklace-Tiffany
-Bracelet-Silpada Jewelry
-Earrings-Nordstrom (BP)
-Ring-Banana Republic

I wish I had some cute navy patterned tights to hide my scary white legs...that would have been cute! Note to self--get navy patterned tights!

On Saturday night I was able to get away with a few friends to go see a movie and grab fro-yo for dessert afterwards. Girls night! We went and saw "The Help" which was really pretty good! It was touching and really made you think. Here's what I wore for the night out:

-Top-J Crew Factory
-Magenta "Jackie" Cardigan-J Crew Factory
-Artist Crop Jeans-American Eagle
-Studded Skinny Belt-J Crew Factory
-Gold Wedge Sandals-Banana Republic Outlet
-Necklace-Forever 21

Sheyna Jewelry Coupon Code for Found in My Closet Readers!

Hi everyone! Hope you're all enjoying your weekend so far. I have to apologize because I meant for this post to go up yesterday and now realize it didn't go up, so better late than never I suppose! Earlier this week I was contacted by David, the PR manager for Sheyna Jewelry and he asked if I would be interested in spotlighting their company on my blog. I told him I'd be happy to, as long as there was something in it for my readers! I had never heard of the company before this week, but apparently I've been living under a rock because even Oprah herself is backing them by featuring them in her magazine recently! Here's a rundown on Sheyna Jewelry (taken from their website):

"Sheyna (SHAE-nah - which means beautiful) is brought to you by a team of exceptional people who love to help others create beautiful things. The jewelry you design and buy on Sheyna is hand-crafted in gold, silver, and semi-precious stones by women and men in Sheyna’s workshops around the world. We use the same high quality gold, silver, stones and charms found in the best boutiques and shops but we make every piece to order.

Anyone can create beautiful fashion jewelry -- necklaces, earrings, bracelets (and soon rings and hair accessories too!) -- in minutes. Drag and drop chains, stones, charms and beads onto the canvas and put them together in any combination. All the prices on Sheyna are calculated as you create so you can make trade-offs between materials, stones and charms to get the look you want at the price you want. When you are happy with your work, you can publish your design to share it and you can even buy what you designed.

You can also get inspired by the designs made by other Sheyna creators. Choose a look that you like and customize it to your taste, share it with a friend, or buy it as is. When you order a piece on Sheyna, we work with skilled artisans in workshops around the world to turn your design into a sparkling, handcrafted reality.

In about 28 days, you’ll receive your jewelry -- with a handwritten note from the artisan who crafted it -- in a beautiful silk pouch. The women and men who make your designs a reality are among the most skilled fashion jewelry makers in the world. We are proud to work with them in their local community to bring their skills and their work to a global market.

Every piece we make is guaranteed to exceed your expectations. If for any reason you are unhappy with your jewelry, we will refund your purchase price 100%."

After I spent some time looking around their website I found several pieces that were already designed that I loved, and totally feel the possibility of creating my own, one of a kind piece is totally fun too! Such a great idea! Here's a few of my favorite pairs of earrings from Sheyna Jewelry:

Elizabeth Earrings:

Circle Charm Coral Earrings

Dew Earrings

As a bonus Sheyna jewelry offers a "Deal of the Day" on their homepage where they deeply discount one item a day. Love that!

So here's what's in it for you. Sheyna Jewelry has created a special 20% off your total purchase promotion code especially for "Found in My Closet" readers...that's you! Just type in "jewelry20" at check out to redeem your discount.

Please share with me what you find! I'd love to see! If you want to keep up on their daily specials and other news make sure to "like" Sheyna Jewelry on Facebook HERE.

*Note-I am only passing along information and a promotion code and expressing my personal opinion on the products I am seeing on the website. I have not personally ordered or received any jewelry from Sheyna Jewelry, and therefore cannot comment of any personal experiences. I am quite tempted to give them a try though! =)

I looked like a rainbow today...

Hi there! Hope your week is going good so far...mine has been pretty good--busy, but good. Happy Fall, by the way! It's officially fall so I'm hoping the weather lady on the morning news this morning wasn't making empty promises when she said we could say good bye to the 100 degree weather by Sunday...hoping for 70's and 80's soon! This morning I got up with no plan of what I was going to wear (bad) but luckily came up with something quickly when I looked in my closet. I started throwing my outfit together and by the time I was done I looked into the mirror and had to laugh...I mean, how many colors can one wear in one look? Apparently like 9 or 10...I counted.

-Tie-back Tank-Anthropologie
-BP Three-quarter sleeve cardigan-Nordstrom
-Cropped Jeans-J Crew Outlet
-Seychelles "Purr" Wedge Sandals
-Torsade Necklace-Anthropologie
-Bardot Hoop Earrings-Stella & Dot
-Bracelet-Silpada (gift from my parents)
-Ring-Pree Brulee

I literally felt like a rainbow threw up on me, but I actually kinda liked it. I like embracing color...it makes life a little more fun on an otherwise typical Thursday.

I was watching TV last night and came across a TJ Maxx commercial (I was actually watching something live for once instead of off my DVR) with a fashion blogger as the main person in the commercial. I went to my computer to look her up and see what her blog was all about...and it's so cute! I especially liked her because she's wearing the cute yellow Seychelles Booties that I'm lusting after right now in one of her recent posts. Have you checked her out yet? Her name is Lindsay Calla and her blog is Saucy Glossie. Check her out! She's a NY girl with some fun fashion ideas.

Anyone have any big plans for the weekend? We have our last Saturday morning soccer game of the season, I have plans with a few friends to go see "The Help", and my bro-in-law will be here for a night visiting from London. Wish the rest of the family could have come but the kids will have fun jumping all over "Uncle Jake" for a night regardless. Come back tomorrow..I'll have a fun coupon code to share with you, created exclusively for "Found in My Closet" readers for a jewelry site I was just introduced to...take a looksie and see what you love: Sheyna Jewelry

I'm off to get my kiddos in bed and settle in for a night of must-see-TV...lots of great season premiers tonight! Plus Project Runway...yay!

One day last week....and another round of "Wow Me" Wednesday!

Amongst all the hot weather we've been having there was one morning (maybe two) that felt nice and cool last week. I jumped at the opportunity to wear jeans and a cardigan! Never mind that by 2:30pm pick-up a cardigan wasn't at all necessary. At least I had the morning!

-Top-Down East Basics
-Loop Stack Cardigan-Anthropologie
-Curvy Jeans-Gap
-Steve Madden Fantasik Wedges
-Necklace-Tiffany
-Earrings-Express
-Bracelet-Silpada (birthday gift from my parents)
-Ring-Banana Republic

I'm clearly not following the "no white after Labor Day" rule. I say anything goes!!

Just a few things on my mind this morning:

-My TV shows are BACK! This week is premier week and my DVR is set and ready to record! Last night I watched Glee and the new show "New Girl" on Fox. Loved them both!

-Wide width feet are a pain to shop for. My 5 year old son wants Skechers so badly like his older brother but I cannot for the life of me locate any wide width 11.5 Skechers online anywhere. What the heck?

-I got my hair cut and colored last week...finally! I've been growing my hair out for a year now and although I feel like it's still kinda short, I know it's come a long way from where I started. My hair girl cut a little more than I was hoping last week but only because my ends weren't looking too hot. To make things more exciting, a few days ago I thought I'd move my part over about an inch or so more to the side( aren't I a dare devil). Not sure how I feel about it yet...the picture you see above was prior to the "move". Luckily if I get tired of it I can just go back to the old routine!

-I've been on a major Reese's Pieces kick this week...love them!

-While browsing online I've come across tons of cute things I'm loving lately...here are a few for today's "Wow Me" Wednesday...some I love from afar and some have found themselves in my closet:

"Wow Me" Wednesday 9-21-11

1. BP "Becca" Pump--Last week I found some Leopard Print wedges that I really liked, but when they arrived I hated them. They didn't look anything on like I thought they would so they went back. I came across these cute shoes (pumps instead of wedges) and fell in love! So cute, and such a great price compared to other retail stores such as J Crew. Leave it to Nordstrom!

2. Camillia Blouse-Anthropologie--SO pretty! I've been lusting after this pretty top for weeks now but never seem to be able to find it in the store. I would love to give this a try as I think it would be super cute paired with my new reddish/pink jeans!

3. Bookstore Cardi-Down East Basics--About a month ago I saw a small shot of this cardigan on Down East's blog as a little preview of what was to come this fall, and was intrigued. When it finally popped up online this week I grabbed it with the 20% off coupon code they were offering to their Facebook fans. I love the cute shape and think it would be a great layering piece. I'm hoping the color is ok with my skin tone though...we'll see!

4. Sea Drops Earrings--When I was at Anthropologie a few weeks ago I saw these cute earrings sitting all by their lonesome calling out to me....so of course I grabbed them! I had never noticed them online or on anyone previously but really liked the way the color popped in person. I have already worn them a few times...they go with lots of color combinations. Highly recommend these!

5. Miz Mooz Lacey T-Strap Pump--Hello gorgeous! These were love at first sight. I lack closed-toe pumps in my closet so I've been on the lookout for a few options for fall. I saw these and really loved the neutral color (almost brown with some gray undertone) and design. I took my normal Miz Mooz size 8.5 in these and could not be happier to add these to my closet. They will look so cute with trouser jeans, rolled up skinnies and of course a skirt or dress. Super versatile!

We had a long night last night...I've got myself a sick 2 year old with croup and a fever. No fun. We're sticking close to home this morning in hopes that he'll start feeling better soon. Also need to dive into the laundry...folding party anyone?

Have a great day!

Fall Looks

Happy "almost" start of the new week! I have several outfit shots to share with you from the past few days but their all still on my camera, so they'll have to wait till tomorrow, I suppose. Stay tuned! In the mean time I thought I'd share some sets I've been creating on Polyvore. I'm looking forward to fall, as I've mentioned no less than 20,478,264 times, so I've got fall clothes on the brain. As soon as the weather turns cooler for good here's what I want to be wearing:

Pattern Mixing, Oh my!

Autumn Colors

Loosened Shelby-v3

Ginger Spice Cardi-2

Blazing Blouse-Fall edition

See any you'd wear? What are you looking forward to wearing this fall??
