All dressed up with somewhere to go!

I was just telling my husband last night how fun it is to get dressed up. I jump at the chance! How I wish I had more places to go so I had good reason to get all dressed up. After school pick-up in tall, skinny-heeled stilettos just isn't that practical. Don't get me wrong, I do "dress-up" some days just for my daily routine but I do so mainly because I like to, not because I have any good reason to. Call me vain, but I feel better about myself when I'm dressed up a little. It does wonders for your self-confidence. Last night I actually had good reason to get dressed up (YAY!)...hubby took me out on a date. He even planned the whole thing! We went to dinner at Morton's Steakhouse (SOOOO good), grabbed ice cream at this really old but well-known joint called Gunther's Ice Cream Shop (Butter Pecan in a waffle cone...YUM) and then ended the night by going to Music Circus to see "Miss Saigon" (California Musical Theater). I loved it. We really like going to plays when we get the chance, but it definitely has to be the right kind of play. Going to the theater makes me feel a little more cultured than I really am, and I get to dress up...BONUS!

Here's proof we got out of the house together without kids in tow:

And here's what I wore out on our date:

-Floral Print Tank-Loft (Spring 2010)
-Cardigan-Gap Outlet (OLD)
-Pizarro Skirt-Shabby Apple
-Enzo Angiolini "Sully" Platform Pump-Nordstrom (July 2011 Anniversary Sale purchase)
-Weave & Plait Belt-Anthropologie
-Earrings-Banana Republic
-Necklace and Bracelets-Tiffany

This is my debut of this cute skirt from Shabby Apple...I must say it's WAY longer on my short legs than it is on the model in the product shot. I actually really liked the length though with the cute scallops coming down...it just added a little something extra to it. Had it been solid all the way down I think it would have cut me off and looked odd. I am wearing this in an XS which fit well. The only complaint I have about this skirt is the fact that it's not lined. It really could have used some lining just for ease of wear. All well...obviously, not a deal breaker. This skirt is part of their new "Inca Trail" release...check out the whole collection HERE.

We're off to have dinner with friends this afternoon...and then a new week begins bright and early tomorrow morning! Hope you've had a great weekend!

Modeling is not my thing

My 5 year old is my new photographer. I have to give him some serious credit though...he actually takes more "clear" shots than my 7 year does, to be honest. When I asked him the other day if he wanted to try to take my picture he jumped at the chance, unlike my 7 year old who dreads taking his dear ole' mom's picture. He's over it. So during #3's nap time, #2 and I headed to the front yard to take the standard hand on the hip photo by the front door. After a few shots I figured we probably had at least one decent one and was ready to go back in. It was also like 500 degrees outside and I was hot. Then he just kept clicking the camera...he was having so much fun so I started doing funny poses and faces. We had a good laugh.

When we got in the house and I uploaded the pictures he took I had an even better laugh...I better not quit my day job because modeling is certainly not gonna work out for me. =) Funny how in your head when you pose you're thinking it'll look so cute but when you see it up on the screen you want to cringe and delete it immediately. I decided to be brave and pick a few of the better ones to throw in today, just to break up the monotony of the hand on the hip pose I do daily. I'm all about changing it up (once a year or so). =)

-Squeezebox Top-Anthropologie
-Rise-and-Fall Cardigan-Anthropologie
-Cropped Jeans-J Crew Factory
-Looping Lanes Belt-Anthropologie
-Presta Wedge Sandals-Target
-Lucky Brand Necklace-Macy's
-Bardot Spiral Bangle-Stella & Dot
-Bardot Hoop Earrings-Stella & Dot
-Ring-Pree Brulee

I totally missed "Wow Me" Wednesday yesterday...I took the day off. The kids and I went to the pool for three hours with friends after school. It was fabulous. I digress...
Maybe I'll just make that a sporadic feature...some weeks I'll post it and others I won't. There are definitely some things I have my eye on right now...all these fall roll outs are killing me! Especially since summer just decided to show up this week...I wonder if fall will ever arrive at this point.

Hope you have a great rest of your day! I'm super excited for the next Project Runway tonight...love me some "Make it work" action! Did I mention to you that my sis-in-law was actually at the outdoor runway a few episodes ago? I saw her on TV. Now she's famous. Go Hailey! =)

Pop of Color

I'm not much of a neutral palette dresser...most of my outfits have some color to them. I almost feel boring wearing no color but when I see others do it well, I always think it's really cute! I decided to go out on a limb yesterday and go neutral. I paired white and grey. That's as blank slate as it comes! I couldn't stand to leave the house without at least a little color so here's how I fixed the problem:

-Loosely Looped Tee-Anthropologie (Fall 2010)
-Matchstick Jeans-J Crew Factory (Summer 2010)
-Wedge Sandals-Loft (Spring 2010)
-Earrings-Anthropologie
-Bracelet-Macy's
-Ring-Forever 21

Just a little pop of color at my feet brightened up the whole look and made it go from drab to fab! (Not sure it really did but I've always wanted a reason to use that phrase..lol). Dressing in neutrals isn't so bad if you play around with it a bit!

Anthro surprised us with yet another small-ish sale this morning...not a ton of things to get excited over but a few. I placed an order for this in green to see how it fits into my wardrobe, this cute belt that's been staring at me in the face for weeks now and this fun top that I've been waiting to go on sale ever since it came out (still not on sale...I got impatient). I needed a full price item to get my free shipping, and there was only one red one left in stock in my size so I grabbed it up. Can't blame me, right?! =) It's on my birthday wish list so we'll just call it a pre-birthday gift to myself (my birthday is in a few weeks)...shortens the list of things my husband has to choose between now. Aren't I considerate? I'm not so sure he would see it that way, but I'll go with it. Wanna see what else is on my list??
Birthday Wish List

Just a few things. A girl can dream!

Have a great day!!

PS--For all you Bachelor Pad watchers....SOOOOO bummed we're still stuck with Casey....ALMOST got rid of him!

Got all dressed up for church this morning...I've worn this top and cardi together before but this time I paired it with a skirt and different jewelry. Please excuse the super wrinkled skirt...this is what I look like after battling a 2 year old (along with a 5 and 7 year old) at church on my own. Hubby had to work this morning. It was one of those days.

This coming week will be full of sunshine and warm weather...I'm enjoying wearing my summer clothes while I still can, yet I'm so excited to pull out my fall attire! Perhaps it has something to do with all the cute fall roll outs I'm seeing everywhere...I die! =)

Alright...I'm off to bed. Happy start of the new week!!

Visit to J Crew Factory and an OOTD

Hi there! We're nearing the end of the first week back to school here in our house and let me tell ya...I'm exhausted! It's been a good week so far though. In honor of the first day of school on Monday I played hooky from going to the gym and decided to head on up to the outlet mall and walk around a little with only one kid in tow. Just one!!! The outlets don't open until 10am so there wasn't much time to do too much damage (I have to pick up #2 from kindergarten at 11:20am), but somehow I managed to do a little anyways. I stopped in at J Crew to see if any of their new fall roll out had arrived, and turns out I picked a good day to go...they just got their first shipments in! I tried on only a few things...here's what I found:

Look closely...there's some bling on those shoulders! This looks to be similar to the Confetti Striped sweater that the retail store carried, but the factory brand version has a lot less sequins and is a jersey-knit, t-shirt material. In all honesty, I much prefer the factory version...I thought the retail version was a little over-kill in the bling department. It came in a blue/white stripe (seen here), olive green/olive green stripe, solid olive green and solid black I believe. I tried this on in an X-Small and it was a perfect fit. It came home with me at 30% off!

I saw this cute top (that needs a good steaming to get the wrinkles out) and thought it would be such a great fall color to have hanging in my closet. Also a great layering piece! It also came in a pink color...as well as one or two more colors I think...don't quote me on that though. I tried it on in both an X-Small and a Small and liked the fit of the Small better (which is what I'm wearing in the pictures). It was a bit longer and the elastic waist band that falls at your natural waist was a little less tight. The SA brought in a belt for me to try it on with and I loved the way it looked! I saw a deep fuchsia colored Jackie cardi hanging on one of the dressing room doors as I walked into the dressing room and went back and grabbed it to try on with this green top. Turns out I loved the color combo. Sold. Top, cardi and belt.

Before leaving I took a quick snapshot of what I was wearing:

-Tie-back Tank-Anthropologie
-Cardigan-Old Navy ($6)
-Artist Crop Jeans-American Eagle
-Seychelles "Purr" Wedge Sandals-shoes.com
-"Lucky" Necklace-Macy's
-Bracelets-Tiffany
-Earrings-Pac Sun
-Ring-Pree Brulee
-Cute little boy in the background-mine! Love him! =)

I waited for FOREVER for this tank to go on sale...finally a few weeks back it did...hooray!

All in all it was nice to have a little break and just have #3 to hang out with while shopping. Much easier too! I missed my kiddos though...but it was fun to hear all about their first day when they came home. Now we're four days in and everyone still likes their classes so we'll call it a success so far!

Did you pick anything up on sale at Anthro this week? I grabbed a few things...the Gathering Tank in turquoise, the Winner's Circle Tee in Orange and Purple (good fall/transitional colors) and the Sun-Catcher cardigan which I was shocked to see go on sale already, but so excited as it was my favorite thing I tried on last time I went to my local Anthro store! It was all sold out online but I was able to track one down in Houston. I also may have found a few pairs of shoes on SUPER sale at Banana yesterday. Perhaps. More on that another time.

Hope you all have a great Thursday! So excited for Project Runway tonight!!! =)

'Wow Me" Wednesday!!!

Hi all! It's time for another round of "Wow Me" Wednesday! Here are five things that are making me say "WOW" in a good way this week:
"Wow Me" Wednesday!!!

1. Mad Men Collection "Animal Print Cardigan" from Banana Republic-$79.50
There is just something so classic about this leopard print and I love that it's not the typical brown color...it's more grey. So darn cute!

2. "Honey House Necklace" from Anthropologie-$88
Oh how I love this so much. It comes in this aqua color as well as purple. This will be mine as soon as it hits sale!!

3. "Retail Therapy Skirt" from Ruche-$36.99
The name of this cute skirt in itself is calling out to me! I love the rich cocoa brown color and the fun bow at the waist. So many colors could be paired with this skirt and it would look darling in winter or spring...super versatile. I'm talking myself into it as I type!

4. Trouve "Remi Pump" from Nordstrom-$99.95
This sleek pair of dark chocolate brown pumps are gorgeous! I love the heel and the platform giving the illusion of more height. I'd love to try these on!

5. "Golden Horizon Handbag" from Ruche-$45.99
One thing I have wanted for a long time is a mustard yellow handbag and this one just might fit the bill! I love the unique shape and the shorter strap length. It's a color that works well for all seasons also! My birthday is coming up...maybe I'll have to add this to the wish list! =)

See anything you like? Do you own any of these fun items yourself? Do share! Have a great day!

Girly-girl

Happy Monday! In our house, it's also "Happy Back-to-school" day! I've already picked up my kindergartner who had a great first day and am off to pick up my 2nd grader here in a bit..can't wait to hear all about his first day back!

Yesterday for church I wore the girliest dress I own. Sometimes it's fun to go all girly-girl!

-Stroke of Midnight Dress-Down East Basics
-Seychelles "Password Pumps"-Nordstrom (Summer 2010)
-Necklace/Earrings-Nordstrom
-Bracelet-Twisted Silver
-Ring-Forever 21

I used to be so against wearing floral anything but now I think if it's done the right way it can be so cute!

Crossing my fingers for a fun sale at Anthro tonight...with free shipping back (with purchase of a full-price item) I'll be all over some great deals if they're offering!

Have a great day!

Soccer Mom

Hi everyone! It's the weekend!! We were up bright and early this morning to get ready to go cheer on my son at his very first soccer game. Somehow I got myself roped into being team mom so I was up late making posters to hold up for the kids during the game. Truth be told I love being involved in their activities and school stuff. I wish I could do it more. As my youngest gets a little older it'll become easier, I'm sure. Our team's uniforms are yellow so I thought I'd join in and sport some yellow myself:

-Ruffle Front Top-Gap (Spring 2009)
-Cap Sleeve Tee-Shade Clothing
-Always Skinny Jeans-Gap
-Steve Madden "Fantasik" Wedge Sandals-Amazon
-Necklace-Lisa Leonard Designs
-Bracelets-Tiffany
-Ring-Pree Brulee
-Bardot Hoop Earrings-Stella & Dot

My son's team won 7-2. Go Sharks!

Have a great weekend!

"Wow Me" Wednesday

Hi everyone! Happy middle of the week! Welcome to my second round of "Wow Me" Wednesday picks...where I choose five items that I'm loving this week. I'll get right to it:

"Wow Me" Wednesday-8/10/11

1. Fossil Tortoise Watch-LOVE! This watch fulfills the animal print trend that's SO in right now and the darker color of the band screams fall to me. So cute!

2. Halogen "Lynden Pump" from Nordstrom-These are gorgeous! I love everything about them...the wide ankle strap, the two-toned material and the heel height. I certainly wouldn't mind having these in my closet! I didn't even know Halogen did shoes...where have I been?

3. Seychelles "Cleary Heels" from Anthropologie- I first saw these during the Anniversary sale at Nordstrom in the mushroom and cognac colors and was intrigued. Then I saw them in yellow at Anthropologie...oh my cute! I still like them in cognac as well, but the yellow is so fun! These are my typical go-t style so I'm almost surprised I like them, but I do! Too many fun colors to choose from...what's a girl to do?

4. Stained Glass Baubles Ring from Ruche-I recently picked this ring up from Ruche (hasn't yet arrived). I loved the colorful mix of glass pieces and think it will be the perfect accessory to mix and match with!

5. Twisted Ascot Tee from Anthropologie-Anthro knows how to do a top well and this is no exception. I haven't yet seen this in person, but online I'm in love. I love the red color, the neckline, the possibilities of wearing it with pencils skirts or jeans....a great basic with a twist!

Are any of these already in your closet? What do you think...any of these must-haves in your book??

Weekend Wardrobe

Happy Monday! Today is our last Monday of freedom before school starts...crazy! This summer flew by so fast, to be honest. It's been lots of fun but I'm so excited for the fall months to almost be upon us! I'm looking forward to fall weather, fall holidays, fall activities and fall food...love it all! For now, however, we'll bask in the sunshine while we still have it and enjoy summer!

So I have outfits from the past four days to share with you...blogging takes a back seat on the weekends so I always have outfit shots stacked up to share on Monday mornings it seems. Here's what I've been wearing:

Thursday:

-Grand Ruffle Tank-J Crew (Spring 2010)
-BP Three quarter sleeve cardigan-Nordstrom
-Artist Crop Jeans-American Eagle
-BC Footwear Flats-DSW
-Earrings and Necklace-Nordstrom (BP)
-Ring-Forever 21
-Bracelet-Gap Outlet

My mom came down this day and hung out. I took my youngest to his 2-year old check-up and we also had soccer practice in the afternoon. The day called for a good pair of flat shoes!

Friday:

-Gathering Blossoms Top-Anthropologie
-Whirl & Wind Cardigan-Anthropologie
-Always Skinny Jeans-Gap
-Platform Sandals-Journey's (OLD)
-Necklace-Fossil
-Earrings-Nordstrom (BP)
-Bracelet-Old Navy
-Ring-Pree Brulee
-Bag-Handbag Heaven

Hubby and I had a date night planned for Friday night but he got called into surgery about an hour before he was suppose to be home so we had a little change of plans. I already had a babysitter arranged so he told me I should just go get her and enjoy a few hours to myself and then he'd meet up with me for dinner. Don't have to tell me twice! =) I decided to head over to the mall and walk around, kid-free! If only our mall was anything to get excited by though...no J Crew, no Loft, no Anthro, not even a Gap...it's in need of some new stores! I stopped by Macy's, American Eagle, Express, Old Navy and a few more but didn't see anything I had to have. Hubby finally finished up and we met up at Red Robin for some burgers, fries and a milkshake...YUM! We had a good night even though half-of the night I was on a date with myself! Took this picture in the American Eagle dressing room.

Saturday:

-Tank-Nordstrom
-Cardigan-Loft (Spring 2010)
-Matchstick Jeans-J Crew Factory
-Steve Madden "Cabezza" Sandals-Shoes.com
-Necklace-Nordstrom (BP)
-Bracelet-Macy's
-Bardot Hoop Earrings-Stella & Dot
-Ring-Banana Republic

I was able to meet up with a few friends for girl's night on Saturday night and we had fun chatting away over dinner. I pulled out this cardi that I bought last summer at Loft....I forget how much I love it! It's the perfect bit of sparkly fun to add to an outfit!

Sunday:

-Sprightly Shirtdress-Anthropologie
-Crossroads Belt-Anthropologie
-BP "Tee" Sandals-Nordstrom
-Small Open Circle Necklace-Shabby Apple
-Earrings-Banana Republic
-Ring-Forever 21
-Bardot Spiral Bangle-Stella & Dot

I just picked this dress up last week for $29.95 when it hit 2nd cuts and I love it! It's totally different than any other dress I own...in style and colors!

So there you have it...my weekend wardrobe!

Hope you have a great start to the week! Anyone else excited for "Bachelor Pad" to start tonight? One more guilty pleasure to add to the list!! =) I read somewhere that tomorrow is suppose to be a home sale for Anthro so I don't have high hopes for clothing markdowns. You never know though...Anthro has a way of surprising us sometimes! We'll see!

Summer Layers

In the summer you don't typically think to layer...in fact, summer is like the anti-layering season. When I found this cardigan at Anthropologie this past spring, however, I decided I was willing to break the "say no to layers in the summer" standard. This cardi is one of my most favorite pieces from Anthro yet...I just love everything about it. What made it even better was that I was able to score it on sale for just $19.95! I pulled it out for the first time this week and love how the layers looked:

-"Judy Tee"-Anthropologie
-"Chevron Cardi"-Anthropologie (Sold out online)
-Cropped Jeans-J Crew Factory
-Steve Madden "Fantasik" Wedge Sandals-Amazon
-"Strung Palms" Bracelets-Anthropologie (Sold out online)
-Lucky Brand Necklace-Macy's
-Earrings-Pac Sun
-"Pretty Rugged Ring"-Pree Brulee

Do you layer in the summer? What's your favorite layering piece right now? Do tell!

So any big plans for the weekend? Hubby and I are going out tonight...yay! I love a good reason to get all dressed up! We're thinking we might go see the new movie "Crazy, Stupid, Love"...it looks hilarious! Anyone seen it? What did ya think? Then on Saturday night I have plans to get together with two of my girlfriends for dinner. Sunday will be church and spending time with my boys and hubby at home...can't wait!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

"WOW Me" Wednesday!!!

Hi all!

Welcome to "Wow Me" Wednesday! This will be my new feature post every Wednesday where I highlight five things that are making me say "WOW!" in a good way each week! Each item will typically be fashion related but you never know...I may throw a random something in every now and again if I feel the need. =) So here we go...here are five things I'm "WOW'd" by this week:
"WOW Me" Wednesday-8/3/11

1. Flight of Fancy Blouse-$38 from Francesca's Collections

I tried this top on in person and fell in love with it. There is something about the way it falls that I adore. And who doesn't love a bow? It definitely needs a layer underneath because it is sheer, but paired with some skinny jeans, boots and layered jewelry it will be so cute for the fall!

2. Glitter-tip painted nails

So I'm not a hand model by any means, but I loved how my nails came out when I painted the tips using a fun glittery nail polish. I hardly ever paint my nails but I liked having a little bling to look down on throughout the day (besides the wedding ring, which of course I love too). I used cheap drug store Sally Hansen nail polish but think I might need to invest in something a little more expensive (which often translates to something higher quality) so it doesn't chip off so fast.

3. Tectonics Necklace-$118 from Anthropologie

How gorgeous is this necklace? It needs to be around my neck STAT! I love the longer length and the unique style. It would be super versatile and fun to spice up any outfit!

4. Pizzaro Skirt-$54 from Shabby Apple

Shabby Apple released their new "Inca Trail" line this morning and I immediately fell for this plum colored beauty. The tiered scallops are adorable and something very different than anything else I own. When I find unique pieces such as this I have a hard time passing it up so this fun skirt is on it's way to me. Hope it fits good!

5. BP Three Quarter Sleeve Jersey Cardigan-$16.90 on sale at Nordstrom

I almost missed the boat on these fabulous cardigans! I've seen them on several fashion bloggers but never actually grabbed one for myself until a few weeks back. I now have a mini collection because I love them so much! The one color that has eluded me was the yellow "Daffodil" color. I'm hoping they'll restock for fall since they are BP's standard cardis. Hopefully! For now, however, they are a steal for just under $17 a piece. I took a size small in these cardigans...they run a tad small. Glad I could get in on the BP cardi action!!

So those are a few things that I've been WOW'd by this week. Anything catch your eye? Anything WOW'ing you right now that I must know about? DO tell!

Have a great day!

Closet Procrastinator

Are you the kind of person that plans out your outfits a week ahead? I wish I was. But I'm not. At all. I'm the kind that wakes up most of the time with no idea what I'm going to wear that day. I'm what you would call a procrastinator. I always assume some grand outfit idea will come to me a I'm applying mascara or curling my hair but no...it doesn't. Well, sometimes it does, but not usually. I end up standing in front of my closet hoping some fabulous look will jump out at me (literally). When it doesn't, I rely heavily on Polyvore to help me out. I like to go in and create outfits on Polyvore some nights when I'm watching TV so when I have no clue what to wear (most mornings)I have a few pre-made outfit ideas waiting for me. Sunday morning was one of those mornings I had no clue what I wanted to wear. Luckily I had created this look on Polyvore a few months ago and away we went:

Dressed Up Boldly Brushed Peasant Top

And here's how it looked in real life..just a few changes:

-Boldly Brushed Peasant Top-Anthropologie (Winter 2011)
-Rah-Rah-Rumba Skirt-Anthropologie (Summer 2010)
-Belt-Forever 21
-Presta Wedges-Target (Summer 2010)
-Small Open Circle Necklace-Shabby Apple
-Bracelet-Macy's
-Ring-Pree Brulee
-Earrings-Stella & Dot

Did anyone score anything from Anthro on sale today? I have to admit, none of my "must-have" items hit sale so I wasn't terribly excited by it. There were a few things on my long wish list that did hit sale but none that I felt strongly enough about to get. Still waiting for some second cut on a few things. The one thing I did decide to get was this:

I tried on the yellow motif of this dress just over a week ago and decided I liked that motif best but at $60 I wasn't willing to pull the trigger. When I saw it went down to $29.99 today I decided I wanted to get it, but had a change of heart about the motif I wanted. The yellow/pink version just looks too much like other things I have in my closet already. The green motif, on the other hand, is different than anything I already have, so I went with that. I've seen a few other bloggers wear it and it's really cute!! Can't wait to get it! I was playing on Polyvore with some belt and shoe possibilities to go with it:

Sprightly Shirtdress

Button front dress, $60
Leather shoes, $168
Banana Republic wood shoes, $120
Seychelles wedge heel sandals, $95
BP. t bar shoes, $70
Belt
Belt, $44
Braided belt, $20
Belt, $40
Mossimo Cognac Presta Wedge - 8.5 : Target, $25

Alrighty...we're off to #2's first soccer practice of the season today...we'll see how this goes! =)

Have a great day!

Floral Fun, my Shoe Wish List and a PSA

Another Monday is upon us!!! Hope you all had a great weekend...mine certainly wasn't long enough. It never is! To kick off the weekend on Friday afternoon I met up with "my girls" for lunch to say goodbye to two of our good friends who are moving away. So sad to say goodbye but so many great memories to file away! Afterwards I ran over to the mall really quick to pick something up for my son and popped into the Old Navy fitting rooms to snap a quick OOTD picture. I came home with a pair of $9 church pants for #3...mission accomplished.

Here's what I wore:

-Alstroemeria Tee-Anthropologie
-BP Three Quarter Sleeve Cardigan-Nordstrom
-Artist Crop Jeans-American Eagle
-BP "Tee" Sandal-Nordstrom
-Necklace-Fossil
-Earrings-Banana Republic
-Bardot Spiral Bangle-Stella & Dot
-Ring-Forever 21

So today I was browsing online a little and started looking at what else...shoes! I have a serious love and slight addiction to shoes and cardigans. I'm sure you never would have guessed! =) I think I've narrowed down my long wish list of shoes to my favorite four:
Shoe Love

Platform high heels, $168
Platform high heels, $168
Steve madden shoes, $90
Seychelles platform wedge, $78

I'd love to see all four of these pairs take up residence in my closet soon, but of course money doesn't grown on trees so they'll have to remain on the wish list for now. Well, all but one. I happened to find the pair on the left on sale so they MAY be on their way to come live with me soon. Maybe. =) Aren't they the perfect fall color?! I wear sandals well into the fall months here in the bay area so they'll be a great season staple to have. I am excited to introduce a new color of shoes into my wardrobe! I was playing around on Polyvore and put this look together using the shoes:
Autumn Colors

Now to patiently wait for the rest of the items to hit sale!

I hope they fit ok...we'll see! I have returned so many things lately because they just aren't as cute on as I expected or the fit is just off...including THIS. I had high hopes but it just didn't work. All well. Onto to the next!

We are T-minus two weeks till school starts so summer vacation is almost over! Good and bad. I'm ready for a routine to start up again but once it starts I know I'll long for the lazy days of summer. The grass is always greener. This week we have a lot going on...soccer starts for #2, Taekwondo continues for #1, we have plans to go to the $1 movies with friends, grandma is coming to visit for a day, #3's two-year old doctor appointment and I'm sure we'll try to squeeze in a trip to the pool or splash park at some point as well. I also need to make one last trip to Target to pick up a few things that a few certain somebodies already broke into and used before they could be taken to school. Kids!

I'm up late tonight because I am consumed with thinking about a situation my dear friend I grew up with is going through with his family right now. Matt and Ani are parents to two darling little girls. Their 6 month old daughter, Ruby Jane, is currently on the liver transplant list right now because she has something called Caroli's Disease/Syndrome. Her condition has worsened and ultimately the one thing that can cure her is getting a new liver. They received word tonight that they may have found a liver for her but it turns out it wasn't the right match for her...too big. My heart is breaking for them right now. Now they continue to wait. Their family has been through so much in the past six months and from afar they are such an example of strength and faith to so many, especially me. To learn more about their story you can read Ani's blog HERE. She continues to amaze me. So does little Ruby Jane...that girl has some fight in her! Through this ordeal Ani has become an advocate for organ donation and in honor of little Ruby Jane I would like to pass the challenge onto you to learn more about how you can become an organ donor as well. If you are willing to become one, you can sign-up HERE. I signed up tonight to become a donor. It took only 5 minutes to complete the form. Also, if you are the praying kind, please say a small prayer for little Ruby Jane that she might be able to be matched for a liver soon and that she and her family might continue to have the strength to endure this huge trial they have been given. I know they would be ever so grateful.

Sorry to get so serious on ya...normally I keep this blog pretty light-hearted and fun but every once in a while the need arises to share something about the more important things in life. Clothes and shoes are fun but people are what truly matter in my life.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great start to your week!
